Shawn Patrick Matney broke into the scene in '1994 under the alias DJ Shawn Patrick, playing at the San Juan Room and eventually at Steamworks in '1996. This eventually led to Shawn performing at the Anaheim Convention Center for an event covered by Fox Sports broadcasting for Drive Snow Boards. Shawn moved to Phoenix in '01 where he performed at Club Freedom in '2002. Shawn Patrick also opened for John Kelly in '2002 at a warehouse party. Shawn Patrick moved back to Durango playing out numerous sets at Steamworks, Moe's, the Abbey, Purgatory and the Summit under the alias Spark Madden. Spark Madden moved to Denver in '2011, playing at Sunday Funday @ Meadowlark, in downtown Denver. Here Spark Madden also performed a weekly at Opal as well as several warehouse parties and Odyssey. During this period Spark Madden returned to Durango perfoming at Lunar Base Events, '2010, and '2012, where he played after Jon Bishop in '2010.
