"DO YOU REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS BEFORE THE GHOST TOWN?" I'm a spirit in the material world. I love 80's radio, WLIR/WDRE/WPLJ (until the horror that was Autumn 1989)/WNEW/WPIX, etc., slowcore, shoegazer, 60s/70s/80s soul and R & B, new wave/romantic, sophistipop, postpunk of the Joy Division type or reggae-inflected Two Tone, sad 1940s-1950s tunes, melancholy jazz, mournful ambient&darkwave sounds. I hate the autotuned, monosyllabic, trashy, sociopathic emotionally/developmentally challenged sonic warfare that those younger than 'Gen X' (ie The 'Smart'phone Brained Generations) incorrectly call music. I'm a nostalgist: As a 13 year old in 1989, I already felt that the best years were the halcyon days of my pre-pubertal 80s youth. I love any countdown or radio show from the 1980s, especially but not limited to Casey Kasem. Most of all I want a tesseract or wormhole back to the pre-meme, pre-screen erstwhile days. "WHERE IS THE TENDERNESS?"
