My musical tastes have always been eclectic. Growing up there was always music in the house and I also had external influences bringing punk, ska and reggae into the mix.
The Melting Pot is a culmination of 50+ years of loving music and 35 years of DJing, so that nothing is excluded.
If I love it I will play it. Expect the unexpected.
When I began as a DJ I got used to playing long sets so they had to be constantly moving instead of remaining at the same level all the time.
The show is "Balearic" in the true sense of the word. You might hear soul, reggae, dub, hip-hop, Drum 'n' Bass, funk, disco and house all within a two hour journey every Friday at 10am. To quote a recent comment from the VBR chatroom "the randomness of the selections is genius".
"Balearic is not a kind of music, it's a way of life.
It's the freedom to play whatever you want."
