Red Star Arcade (AKA Paul Johnson) is a house producer, DJ and musician. Whilst most DJ’s follow the traditional route of bedroom DJ straight to the club, he has felt his way through many other genres before landing on the prog/tech/deep house styling’s of his latest productions.
Paul is as influenced by The Beatles, Radiohead and Arcade Fire as he is by John Digweed, Jamie Jones and Danny Howells. Initially more accustomed to plugging into a guitar amp than a DJ mixer. His formative musical years were spent playing in bands such as Chemical Vacation, Vacuum and Elba in the late 90’s and early 00’s.
Visits to the likes of Pacha, Space and Amnesia in Ibiza as well as the clubs of Middlesbrough, Sheffield and Leeds put a desire to be a DJ and produce his own house music equipped with the knowledge and experience of music gained through playing gigs up and down the UK has paved the way for a potentially heavenly rise through the house music circuit.
