San Jose, United States
Michael's musical roots are deeply ingrained in his diverse background. Growing up in East Side San Jose, he was exposed to a wide range of musical influences, starting with his mom's record collection, which featured Filipino classic tracks from the 70s, Motown, and Classic Rock. The local radio stations like KFRC, KMEL, and KSOL played a significant role in shaping his musical tastes, introducing him to the sounds of the era. Living in the Bay Area, where the mobile DJ scene was strong in the early 80s, Michael was exposed to DJ culture and hip-hop, as well as the lowrider culture, which further shaped his musical style. In addition to the diverse range of musical influences, Michael's record crates also included Freestyle music, Miami Bass, and Rap, further expanding the eclectic mix that has shaped his DJing style.
