Quanta put on their first ever boat party in 2001 on the stunning Loch Lomond with Steven McCreery, an event which is still remembered fondly to this day. In 2002 Quanta was listed as third top night in the country by IDJ Mag. The night evolved into the act in 2004 and this seen Quanta become the pairing of Gordon Grant and Gary Thompson as they were invited to tour Greece two years running which saw them playing 6 hour sets to 3000 strong crowd beach parties. They set up the night “ON” at The Arches and organised boat parties on the River Clyde in conjunction, very similar to the Electronic Sessions set up with the Ministry of Sound in London that they went on to play for.
