Protopapa is a DJ, producer, and vocalist rooted in Salento and shaped by Bologna’s hedonistic art scene. Drawn to Milan, he became a key figure in its nightlife, from Rollover’s funky parties to residencies at Le Cannibale, q|Lab, and the queer underground hub Club Q21
He’s designed sound for top fashion houses—Dior, Versace, Armani—and DJed at Milan, Paris and NY Fashion Week. He’s opened for Nicolas Jaar, Miss Kittin, and Horse Meat Disco
His track “Ça va? Je T’aime!” became Italy’s 2022 summer anthem, followed by “Caramella Caramella” and a 40-date European tour in 2023.
He’s currently releasing a single a month starting with “Versatchy (It’s Versace!)” and “Pazzo Italiano” in early 2025.
His debut album drops in fall 2025.
He’s remixed Italian legends like Raffaella Carrà and Loredana Berté, and co-founded FLUIDOSTUDIO and DRAMA Milano, launching queer talents since 2020.
