When Nebes had been discovered by Limikola two years ago, he was an unknown quantity. In the meantime he has been producing diligently and now we have picked out his best tracks. About “Lick Me” for example he himself says that this is the track he can identify with most and he is most satisfied with. Nebes remained faithful with his style – as well as with the label. Now his second two-tracker is going to be released, with familiar nebes-like, grumpy basslines, melodies that are generated by high, contrasting sounds which vary constantly and, however, create a steady flow.
“Ensampled” is another, archaic term for “example”. And exemplarily, this sampling from Nebes’ stock shows that nowadays it’s still possible to produce unique Minimal Techno without blatantly repeating old-school tunes.
