Original b-boy since 1984, although can’t do windmills anymore or spin on my head. Hip hop was my first love musically, and then rare groove and funk a few years later.
Started collecting in 1990 with enough records to fill a milk crate. They now number over ten thousand and are still growing.
I sometimes mix, sometimes select, occasionally scratch and like to double up the vinyl and extend the breaks. All shows are always done using vinyl.
I play funk, eighties soul, rare groove, hip-hip, brazilian and latin, the odd bit of broken beat and soulful house.
In addition, I am a graffiti writer active in London and paint every week. If you see a piece that reads Mase its more than likely done by me.
