I have been in and around UK radio for 50 years
My first stint was at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset UK in April 1975 on a school trip. As a 15 year old I joined Watford hospital radio in 1978 with my own radio show having assisted a colleague on his Friday funk show the previous year. I was playing film and TV soundtrack music and was their youngest ever presenter as I recall at the time, I also did the very first show of the 1980's on that station. Later I joined London pirate Horizon Radio, from there I joined Solar Radio in late 1984. Later in the 80's from late 1986 - 1988 I broadcast with Solar 93fm in London until their closure, In 1990 I joined ILR's Essex radio as a freelance presenter with my own Saturday evening self produced Soul, dance show for 3 and half years, also voicing some adverts for kiss 100FM in London Here and there. In 1998 solar radio came back on air on satellite to Europe and on the internet, initially I was doing live shows for the first four years.
