Jennie Matthias better known as Jennie Bellestar Matthias for her part as lead vocalist to 80’s all girl band THE BELLESTARS stumbled into the music world quite by accident. Story has it Jennie was hanging with a friend who wanted some support at a studio in Waterloo, the track Jennie’s friend was asked to sing BV’s on was IKO IKO the producer liked Jennie’s speaking voice and asked Jennie to sing, reluctantly Jennie went in and put the lead vocal down. That night Jennie went back home, played the cassette to the current boyfriend and the following day the boyfriend got a call from his Ex girlfriend (guitarist with THE BODY SNATCHERS) who in passing mentioned that they were looking for a lead singer, Jennie was asked to go for some auditions and was picked out of several hopefuls shortly after THE BELLESTARS were born…
