As the founder member of the RumShop crew, Promoter & DJ Hu Bertus has a love of music from many genres. Born in Reading, Berkshire in the UK, Hu’s first love was Motown, Soul & Disco, closely followed by Hip Hop. However he states he was not athletic enough to break dance so gravitated toward the turntables in the mid 80’s. He then found a love of House music in the early 90’s when the Chicago legendary music scene found its way across the Atlantic to the UK clubs. Hu’s Caribbean roots also means he has an excellent appreciation of Reggae & most recently Soca, so if you are looking for a 2 hour journey that will take you anywhere musically.
