We used to live in a maisonette above a shop, and in the shadow of a large tower block marking the edge of the estate. At the foot of this block was a generously sized swing park; a popular destination for small children chaperoned by their single-parent mothers, local drug addicts, and teenaged boys. Quite often, all at the same time.

One day after school, me and G were sat on a bench by the swing park listening to a cassette tape he had, and sharing the headphones. He played me this song that was hard to describe... I mean, it was far too slow to be Jungle, and it certainly wasn't R&B.

"That tune", we called it, I now know was 'Find The Path (In Your Mind), by New Horizons. The genre went from US House to HouseNGarage, from Garage to UKG, back to House...

Why bother with names, they just confuse things.
