Aaron Handford (Driem) is a musician & producer based on the West Coast of BC. He began playing in rock bands in the then transitioned to electronic music during his time on Salt Spring Island, BC. He is a resident DJ at Just Dance; a weekly Vancouver dance event that blends World Music with both eclectic acoustic and electronic rhythms, all in a free-form dance environment, as well as Dance Temple Comox Valley.
Driem believes that music can create a sense of wonder and open new dimensions in consciousness not otherwise accessible. Music that is in tune with the dancer promotes the reunification of the mind, body and spirit, which facilitates healing, play, and connection.
He is inspired by the intersection of the traditional musical legacies of Africa, India, Europe and the Middle East with modern sample based electronic music making methods and is an active music producer.
