Growing up in a rich multi-cultural environment and being raised by a mother who was a dedicated music collector, it seemed inevitable that Rushmo would become a DJ/Producer. As a young boy, he and his older brother created mixtapes using the radio, 'Mom's records' and a tape recorder. A similar origins story resonates with many of the greatest DJs.
His diverse appreciation for music from all around world is certainly evident in his genre bending sets - he has a distinctly unique ability to stick to a rhythmic theme while blending multiple genres like Afro, Disco, Latino, Hip Hop, House and Afropop.
Rushmo is also a professional Sound Engineer and has traveled internationally with some of the most recognized and influential musicians in South Africa, including Hugh Masekela. He now resides in Singapore sharing is unique flavor with his cohorts in his collective with their Afrocentric music event, “Afrodisia”.
