DJ KenStarr is a nationally known DJ born and raised in the inner-city of Chicago, known for his unique style of combining trap and funk music into a seamless composition.
DJ KenStarr is a top scholarship graduate DJ Scratch Academy of Los Angeles, where he was under the tutelage of world renown DJs Revolution and Hapa and began to further hone his craft. His fine tuned ear and keen observation has helped him marry two very opposite musical expressions, trap and funk, for enjoyment by all ages.
The resident DJ at the former Jokes N Notes Comedy Club, DJ KenStarr is also a frequent feature at clubs, weddings, and events where he captivates audiences with his unique style.
DJ KenStarr honed his ear for music during the late 80s and 90s. He grew up listening to such legends as James Brown, Parliament and Stevie Wonder as it filled the halls of his childhood home in Englewood on Chicago's south side. This exposure proved to have a lasting influence on his musical ear.
