Baltimore Music icon Grant “DJ BooMan” Burley first touched the turntables at the age
of eleven while growing up in his native city of Baltimore, and the rest is music history.
The talented DJ and producer began his illustrious career in the late 80’s - early 90’s as
a hip-hop DJ producing for a legendary Baltimore group called Amp Boogie who were
responsible for creating their debut project “Gotta Git On EP” which is a rather
collectable vinyl release in the diggers circle. Through the 80s and into the early 90s,
BooMan was a staple on various radio stations in the Baltimore/Washington DC
area.The years that followed saw BooMan merge his hip-hop roots and combine dance
music elements that would eventually be known as Baltimore Club Music. BooMan
joined forces with his longtime friends KW Griff and Jimmy Jones and formed the famed
production collective, Doo Dew Kidz. The group became known for their unique style of
merging Miami Bass, Chicago House, New York Hip Hop and the raw attitud
