Born in Budapest, Wylhelm is an electronic composer, vinyl-obsessive and underground DJ currently based in London. His musical path has always spanned a broad spectrum — from progressive and minimal techno to psychedelic trance, ambient, chill-out, jazz and world music — but in recent years he has shifted firmly toward a fast, raw and timeless club sound, focusing on techno and hardgroove.
Under different aliases he explores varied sonic identities: as Zoltan Sultan he fuses eastern and Arabic folk with jazz and lounge influences; as Alienbient he shapes mystical ambient worlds; and through the project
Wylhelm has built his reputation through underground clubs and festivals across Europe — from London’s Shoreditch and Camden to Budapest, Barcelona — and as far as Fukushima and Tokyo. Beyond performing, he has long been involved in event organisation, visual staging and creative direction, contributing to projects such as the Askarabaskara series.
