Some say the most interesting artists are ones with the most diverse of influences, those with the most open of minds. That being said, it was only natural that “Silk City,” USA’s own Elimu steered himself deep into the realm of musical awareness via the wheels of steel. Elimu began spinning records way back in 1993, when some of today’s party-goers were still rocking diapers and fisher price shoes. Taking inspiration from his love of vintage hip hop and reggae riddimz, Elimu’s early sets were eclectic and got house parties bumping along the upper east coast of the United States. As his skills grew behind the decks, so did his personal taste in music. Being a fan of hip hop breaks, b-boy jams and smooth reggae vibes, Elimu soon discovered dirty, old school house music, early electronic beats and ragga jungle. His sets soon grew to really cover the whole spectrum of music as a whole...
His true niche and passion thought, lays deep within the jungle.
