Managed to see the Contortions when I had the (James) chance. Wears stripes ‘cause they’re inherently cheerful. Bought all of the Comateens’ 12” vinyl output on a whim and never regretted the money spent. Draws pictures with the non-dominant hand. Still defines post punk as Joy Division, Bauhaus, PiL and Killing Joke (as it was in 1984). Tinny 1920s jazz records are a means of staving off the march of time and its heaping helping of indignity and outrage.
