It began in Africa. The human race and their unique ability to express themselves through music. Music for happy times. Music for sad times. Music for war, and for peace. Music for celebration. African music has a history almost as long as ourselves, and the rhythms and melodies which have emerged from that huge continent have, in more recent times, influenced and shaped so many other genres of music and cultures in places where the people of Africa emigrated to, were displaced to, or were taken against their will.
