Foreign Direct Investment is contributing greatly to the explosive growth here in the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina. In the last 3 years alone, international firms have invested close to $7B in our region and created 3,500 new jobs for our residents. Over 700 companies from Europe, Asia, and around the world now call our region home, and they are continuing to invest here for many reasons, including: - 2% corporate tax rate (Corporate tax rate will be eliminated by 2030) - 3.99% flat individual income tax rate (projected to decrease to 3.49% in 2027) - Talent (NC invests heavily in education: over 50% of the $34B state budget goes to Ed) - Customized workforce training ($230M spent on biomanufacturing training alone) - Energy and industrial lease rates that are 30% lower than the national average - Proximity to customers (75% of the US population (250M) lives within a 1-day drive of NC) - International Connectivity (Daily non-stops to destinations including CDG, LHR, and FRA) Many of the above factors contributed greatly to North Carolina being voted by CNBC as the best state for business 3 out of the last 5 years. If your company is not here yet, now is the time to invest! #ResearchTriangle #NorthCarolina #Manufacturing #EconomicDevelopment #ForeignDirectInvestment #BusinessGrowth #SiteSelection #GlobalBusiness
A strong example of this broader North Carolina FDI story is Lithuania’s SBA Group, a long-standing IKEA supplier, which recently opened a $70 million advanced manufacturing facility in Mocksville. It is expected to create 250 jobs. Although located in the Piedmont Triad rather than the Research Triangle, it North Carolina's gravity 👏

This is incredible, and such a testament to the great work your organization does!
Is no corp tax the best approach for the long term health of the state? Responsible growth takes investment. It seems worth some discussion....
