It's back to school season, and Shriners Children’s reminds parents and caregivers not to skip routine screenings. “The best outcomes happen when scoliosis is identified early,” says Amer Samdani, M.D., neurosurgeon and chief of staff at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia. Early evaluation by a specialist helps ensure children get the right care at the right time, and can help reduce the need for more complex treatments. What if your child's sleep study could happen in their own bed instead of a hospital? For families navigating craniofacial conditions, sleep assessments can be an important part of care. According to Chad Purnell, MD, of Shriners Children's Chicago, new wearable technology allows patients to be monitored while sleeping in their own beds and their normal sleep positions. That means a more comfortable experience for patients and valuable insights for clinicians. 🎧 Listen to the full episode of Pediatric Frontlines: Innovative Perspectives in Craniofacial Care at https://ow.ly/RrUn50Zrsgb and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
