This summer, our interns got a front-row seat to the meaningful work happening across Parkhill, gaining real-world experience through project work, site visits, networking, virtual learning, and collaboration across sectors. One highlight was a cross-sector 3D modeling challenge, where interns worked in teams to design and create unique 3D-printed objects. From brainstorming to problem-solving and time management, each group brought creativity and collaboration to the challenge—and we loved seeing their ideas come to life. We’re grateful for the energy and fresh perspectives they brought to Parkhill this summer! #BuildingCommunity #AECStudentProgram #StudentCareers #ParkhillStudentConnections

El Paso International Airport Iron Dust Off Bypass 📍El Paso, Texas Parkhill served as the engineering consultant for this project, which involved constructing a connection between Constitution Avenue and Iron Dust Off Drive. The connection features a roundabout and a roadway stretching roughly three-quarters of a mile. Improvements included ADA-compliant sidewalks, curb and gutter, and a landscaped median. The median adds color and a regional theme with Nebula Boulders, sourced locally from Desert Rock Company, and a custom lizard concrete stamp that El Paso International Airport also uses on its campus. Traffic improvements included new street signage, illumination, striping, and storm drains. The bypass improves military family quality of life by reducing traffic congestion and enhancing access to William Beaumont Army Medical Center, a critical Level III trauma hospital at Fort Bliss. It also benefits civilian users, including medical students and residents. 📸 Luis M Miranda Jr The City of El Paso Texas Kyle Jackson Michael Ramirez Garrett Jenkins, PE Shaun Tidwell, PE Gustavo Sosa, P.E., CFM Landon Bell, RLA, ASLA Angelica Elena Villalobos #ParkhillTransportation #ParkhillLandscapeArchitecture #BuildingCommunity

I’m excited to share that I’ve had the amazing opportunity to spend this summer working at Parkhill in Abilene! After my first month at Parkhill, I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned so far. As an architecture student, gaining real world, hands on experience has been invaluable. I’ve especially enjoyed working with the K–12 team sector and contributing to the design of schools while learning from such talented professionals. I want to give a massive thank you to Chip Whitlock and the rest of the folks at Parkhill Abilene for welcoming me on! I feel truly honored and blessed to get this opportunity and I’m excited to continue learning, growing, and building on this experience in the months to come!

For nearly 40 years, the Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin has connected students, families, and artists in the region to the power of art through exhibitions, classes, and programs. As the museum's audiences and programming grew, so did the need for space to support them. Parkhill partnered with Ellen Noël to design a renovation and expansion that met that need: additional gallery space for exhibitions the museum could not previously host, expanded studios for hands-on classes and workshops, and accessibility improvements throughout so every visitor can fully participate. The completed facility gives the museum more room to do what it has always done — and more of the Permian Basin a reason to walk through the doors. #EllenNoelArtMuseum #CommunityFirst #ParkhillCommunity #BuildingCommunity RJ Lopez, AIA, ALEP Ellen Noel Art Museum

Successful projects are the result of the collaboration of multiple disciplines. At the University of Texas Permian Basin, Parkhill's Stormwater, Transportation, and Site Development Teams worked together to solve a complex challenge with an innovative solution while supporting the landscape architecture and architecture design goals. Today, we celebrate not only licensed engineers, but also the teamwork that transforms ideas into resilient infrastructure and lasting communities.
