For the fourth year in a row, Apex’s Great Pathfinder Wind project has donated $5,000 to the town of Stratford, Iowa, to sponsor the Kids Zone at the Stratford on the Loose festival. Four years of games, prizes, and a place for kids to burn off a summer afternoon☀️ Turbines and megawatts are what a project looks like on paper. This is what it looks like for a community.

Today we welcomed Virginia Chief Energy Officer Josephus Allmond, Dimension Energy, Local Energy Alliance Program, The Community Climate Collaborative, Gray’s LAMBscaping, LLC, Carrie Hearne, and Aurora Energy Research to our Charlottesville headquarters to mark a milestone for the Commonwealth: the release of new shared solar capacity now opening across Virginia. As PJM’s latest capacity auction keeps pressure on electric bills across the region, shared solar is giving more Virginians a way to save—including families who can’t install rooftop panels of their own. New analysis from Aurora Energy Research puts numbers to it, finding that shared solar delivers net savings for Virginia ratepayers while strengthening the grid.
