Expressing the Earth - Hawick Geopoetics Festival
Join me at the Geopoetics Festival from Friday 23rd October - Sunday 25th October in Hawick in the Scottish Borders.
Writing and all forms of creative expression can be a bridge between ourselves, each other, and the natural world. In this short outdoor workshop we will explore sensory awareness and creativity as pathways to connection.
Through close observation and deep listening we will experiment with creative writing, drawing, collaboration and nature-based exercises, and enter into a conversation with the landscape around us.
An invitation to feel our way, through words, back to belonging and to the living landscape of which we are a part.
HYDRATE - Online
WHO ARE HYDRATE WORKSHOPS FOR?
Maybe you’re feeling a bit stuck, or your writing has gone stale. Perhaps you’ve been doing academic, scientific writing or journalism, and you need to free up your thinking or get out of your ‘head’ or the same-same writing style. Maybe you have a day job and feel a pull to begin expressing yourself through writing. Or perhaps you would like a regular writing space to expand and explore your imagination, and connect with like-minded people.
We all need regular hydration to plump up our words and imaginations, which can become dried out for many reasons.
Whether you’re a poet, fiction writer, essayist, children’s picture book writer, self-help columnist, writer of morning pages in your journal, or have not written for years and want to begin again, you are welcome.
HYDRATE is for people (18+) who write (or want to) in any genre who wish:
to discover themselves through writing
inspiration and connection
to rehydrate the words they write
to try different writing styles
to get out of a writing rut
to create new material
to meet fellow writers and creatives

REFLECT - CONNECT - Online
Think of your year as a book, woven from small moments and epic chapters. Each experience, each feeling, each turning point becomes part of your personal library of life and learning.
2025 is one more volume in your LIFE LIBRARY filled with books from each year of your life.
What does this book look like?
What stories live within its pages?
In REFLECT–CONNECT, we’ll take a deliberate pause.
To notice. To honour. To gather the threads of your year.
Through guided reflection and gentle creative prompts, you’ll connect with the essence of your 2025—what shaped you, moved you, and quietly transformed you.

Ancestral GOLD - Online Creative & Reflective Writing Workshop
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Ancestral GOLD is a 2.5-hour online creative and reflective writing workshop held on the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.
You’ll receive a PDF of personal reflective writing prompts to explore in your own time before the live workshop
We’ll tap into the magic of this day through guided meditation and visual journey. You’ll explore the living stories of your unique family constellation and gather the gold or ancestral medicine of these stories to weave into your creative writing.
We’ll work with creative writing as a way to ‘see’ - to develop stories, poems and other forms of writing that reveal the depth and mysteries of your ‘living stories’ through the process itself.
We’ll explore the stories that live within treasured objects.
You’ll generate new writing, for example, poetry, micro fiction, the development of a character in your fiction novel, or insightful pieces of descriptive or reflective writing.
You’ll connect with and receive inspiration from others through their unique stories, with space to share your experience and/or writing at the end (sharing your writing is, of course, optional).
A Gentle Note: My workshops often include gentle, embodied movement, sound, visuals, meditation or other somatic practices, so please be aware that we will not ONLY be writing.
The Ancestral GOLD workshop provides opportunities for personal growth and creative inspiration that stem from within your own story.
