US theatrical release set for autumn.

Blue Fox Entertainment has boarded worldwide rights to American Zoetrope’s ensemble comedy drama Love Is Love Is Love and its international division will commence sales at the virtual EFM next week.

Blue Fox’s US division has set an autumn theatrical release on the film directed by Eleanor Coppola (Paris Can Wait). ICM Partners brokered the deal with Blue Fox Entertainment on behalf of the filmmakers.

Katie Holmes is returning to her horror roots. After spending recent (read: post-“Jack and Jill”) years working firmly in smaller-scale cinema, including supporting roles in films like “Logan Lucky” and “Woman in Gold” and directing and starring in her feature filmmaking debut “All We Had,” Holmes has signed on for a new high-profile gig. The actress and filmmaker will star in Stx Entertainment and Lakeshore Entertainment’s just-announced sequel, “The Boy 2,” which follows their 2016 horror hit “The Boy.”

Per the film’s official logline, the film follows a “young family” who, “unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion … moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.” Holmes will lead the cast in the role of “Liza,” most likely the matriarch of a seemingly doomed family.

Fury Last night I popped this Blu-ray in to check out the deleted scenes and I made it through about ten minutes worth before I just couldn't stay awake any longer. There are about 50 minutes of deleted and extended scenes on this thing and from those first ten minutes it seems like the cuts were a very good decision. For starters, they add nothing to the movie, particularly an extended introduction to Logan Lerman's character where Jon Bernthal acts even more like an animal toward him, plus the editing is quite bad as David Ayer clearly didn't have the coverage he needed to cut the scenes together with the extended material. Nevertheless, I find this to be a solid movie, and one I do intend on rewatching and I'm going to dig a little deeper into those deleted scenes and if there's more to say I'll probably write up a full review.

In the film Holmes plays a sweet, proper teacher who wreaks havoc on evil-doers when she's not educating elementary school kids. It's a very different project for Holmes, and I like the fact that she's doing an edgy, dark, outside of the box movie like this. This is a much better trailer than the last one that was released, and it offers more footage and insight into the story and character. Here's a brief synopsis:

It’s been fifteen years since Katie Holmes indulged in her bad girl side. Way back in Doug Liman’s cult quirkfest, Go, Holmes’ goody two-shoes went off the rails and into the arms of badboy Timothy Olyphant. For Karen Leigh Hopkins’ upcoming thriller, Miss Meadows, she’s set to walk a similar path.

In the role of a school teacher-turned-vigilante, Holmes’ outward appearance is rather prim. The almost-adolescent dresses, the strappy shoes, white gloves and clutch purse present her as the perfect member of society who has your children’s best interests at heart. The ranks of female film directors are about to swell a little more, as Katie Holmes confirms her plan to helm the upcoming adaptation of the debut novel from Annie Weatherwax – All We Had. The script is being written by Josh Boone (Stuck In Love, The Fault In Our Stars), with Holmes starring and pulling producer duties alongside Jane Rosenthal (Little Fockers) and Berry Welsh (NYC 22).

The story is described as ‘wry and sharply observed’ by publishers Simon And Schuster, and centres on a mother and 13 year old daughter, who find themselves existing on the verge of poverty in small town America, after their old life implodes. Holmes will play the role of the mother, but there is no news yet on wider casting.

While this news will almost certainly be met in many quarters with derision, it is important to note that, of late, Holmes has finally begun to come into her own.

Katie Holmes is making her directorial debut with an adaptation of the book All We Had.

The star optioned the novel in July and has got Jane Rosenthal (Little Fockers) to produce and The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone to write the screenplay.

Holmes will also star in the film as a mother living on the brink of poverty with her 13-year-old daughter.

Rosenthal said in a statement: "Katie has such a clear vision for the book's irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship. Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone's ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of every day, will truly bring these characters to life."

All We Had is Annie Weatherwax's debut novel and was only released in August.

European Film Promotion (Efp) has launched a new initiative, Producers Lab Hamburg (Plh), bringing producers from across Europe to meet with their Hamburg-based opposite numbers.

The event’s two-day programme (Oct 1-2) during this year’s Filmfest Hamburg will include seminars, pitching sessions, one-to-one meetings and a Hamburg location tour.

The ten European producers coming to Hamburg are drawn from the pool of Efp’s former Producers on the Move, including the UK’s Isabelle Stead (Human Films), Luxembourg’s Donata Rotunno (Tarantula), Norway’s Silje Hopland Eik (Cinenord Kidstory) and Spain’s Antonio Saura (Zampa Audiovisual).

Stead will be coming to Hamburg after having taken part in the fifth edition of the Producers Lab Toronto, while Rotunno is now developing Yilmaz Arslan’s new project Raqs after producing his last film Fratricide and is also looking for German partners for his own third feature film Sara Sarà.

Katie Holmes became best know for being Tom Cruise’s wife for a while, overshadowing her performances in movies like Batman Begins, Thank You for Smoking and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

However, the actress looks set to change all of that as she takes on a very different role in Miss Meadows. The movie will see Holmes play a sweet and inspirational school teacher…who just so happens to spend her evenings as a ruthless vigilante wiping out her small town’s scum, particularly those who harm children.

It’s a strange looking film in some ways, but one which has the potential to be something truly special. Based on some of her past roles, Holmes seems like an unexpected choice, but that too should help to separate Miss Meadows from any other similar normal person by day, vigilante by night type of releases.

Earlier this week, we presented a list of actors and actresses who have failed miserably in their attempts at a comeback. For his #1, writer Ashe Cantrell named Katie Holmes, whose latest movie is the critical and box office disappointment The Giver. Maybe we spoke too soon, though; or, maybe we should recognize that all the names on that list still have the potential to eventually find their footing again. The former Mrs. Tom Cruise is only in her late ’30s, and nowadays that doesn’t have to mean anything. We can be reminded of that when Holmes co-stars alongside Helen Mirren in next year’s Woman in Gold. Plus, there’s always the chance that a career-resurrector like Quentin Tarantino will find a special role just for her. He could turn her image upside down by turning her into a gun-toting vigilante. Katie Holmes has taken on a film project and a role that is very different from anything that she has ever done. The movie is called Miss Meadows, and in it she plays a proper, cute, perky elementary school teacher who moonlights as a ruthless vigilante. I've always liked Holmes, and this definitely looks like an interesting project for her. I think it has potential to be really good, and it's a movie I'd go out to see. It will be fun to see Holmes kick some ass! Miss Meadows hits theaters on November 14th.

While her most well-known role to date has been on the long-running tv series Dawson’s Creek, actress Katie Holmes is no stranger to the big screen, having been seen in movies such as Go, The Gift, Batman Begins, and Mad Money. While her last movie appearance was in 2011′s Jack and Jill, the actress has been busy, and one of her upcoming features is Miss Meadows. Focusing on a schoolteacher who spends her nights as a vigilante, the film is written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins, and James Badge Dale and Callan Mulvey join Holmes onscreen. The first trailer for the movie has now arrived, giving the audience a look at what makes the titular character tick. The trailer for Miss Meadows proves at least two things; Katie Holmes is still great and it’s always awesome to have another vigilante role for a woman. While it may not be as hilarious as Serial Mom or God Bless America, this might still entertain you. In Miss Meadows Holmes plays a sweet elementary school teacher with a perfect smile and dress collection, but is also as a killing vigilante.

Is Katie Holmes the most unlikely vigilante yet? In Miss Meadows, which premiered at Tribeca earlier this year and will be arriving in theaters this November, the Batman Begins actress steps up to fight some crime herself – albeit while clad in tap shoes and garishly flowery dresses. The first trailer for the pic paints it as a bizarre cross between Mary Poppins and Hobo with a Shotgun – though the thriller doesn’t totally appear to have mastered that tonally bizarre combo.

The brief trailer shows Miss Meadows as a prim and proper elementary school teacher who enjoys teaching manners to her pupils… when she’s not blowing out the brains of her town’s miscreants. It’s a one-joke premise (how’s that for a split personality?!), but with James Badge Dale and Callan Mulvery in the supporting cast, perhaps Miss Meadows will be enjoyable from an acting standpoint. Katie Holmes stars as a gun-toting teacher-turned-vigilante in the first trailer for Miss Meadows.

The 35-year-old actress plays a seemingly prim primary school teacher who secretly turns to violence to serve justice and restore peace in her leafy American neighborhood.

The drama, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, was written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins and co-stars Iron Man 3 actor James Badge Dale.

Dale stars as a dubious sheriff who doesn't believe that a woman could be capable of Miss Meadows's string of crimes.

"There are bad people in the world, and they shouldn't be around the good people... especially the little ones", Holmes can be heard saying in the promo.

The dramatic trailer also sees Holmes's character aiming her gun at a criminal holding up a restaurant, before bidding him a softly whispered "tooda-loo".

Entertainment One is apparently releasing Miss Meadows, a vigilante thriller starring Katie Holmes as a gun-wielding elementary school teacher, on November 14 and so it only seems appropriate they release a trailer for said vigilante thriller. "All the bad people stay and the good ones die... and I hate the world," says Heather, a little girl in Miss Meadows' (Holmes) class and it seems she is out to do something about that, and the town's police officer (James Badge Dale) is hot on her trail.
