Who knew she had it in her!
Katie Holmes walked the red carpet for a screening of her new film Miss Meadows hosted by Olay and The Cinema Society in New York City on Wednesday, Nov. 12, in one of her edgiest outfits to date. The dedicated mom of Suri Cruise, 8, is usually one to wrap up in cozy knits, relaxed jeans, and roomy blazers, but she had a little fun with fashion this time around.
Holmes, 35, wowed in a white A-line Zac Posen dress, paired with a cropped leather jacket and brown pumps. However, the standout portion of the look was her high bun hairstyle, with just enough messiness to ramp up the edge factor. Smudged black eyeliner complemented the star’s bright hazel eyes.
The direction of the look was quite possibly inspired by her bad girl role in the film. Holmes plays Miss Meadows, a well-mannered school teacher, who turns out to be a gun-toting vigilante.
"Well, this was a challenging role because she slowly reveals why she’s doing what she’s doing," she told Us Weekly at the premiere. "In that sense I approached it like, 'Yeah, that’s the right thing to do.' Obviously, carrying a pistol in your purse is not the right thing to do."
