A large amount of the success behind Toy Story 3, a movie many love to begin with, can be attributed to Michael Arndt‘s sharp and poignant screenplay. And, thanks to that strong effort, he’s become one of Disney’s favorite creative voices — they’ve since hired him for their Snow White take and a new Pixar film. It’s not stopping there, either: 24Frames report that the Oscar-winning Little Miss Sunshine scribe will be giving a rewrite to their film adaptation of the popular cartoon, Phineas and Ferb.
Although a first draft was done by show creators Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire, the plot is “still being developed”; Arndt seems like the guy who’s going to help get things into shape on that front, but I hope he also does a polish on dialogue and character — he’s already excelled at it. The actual show, which I (admittedly) know nothing about,...

[1] One of the big concerns any time a beloved television series makes it to the big screen is that the film version won't do justice to the original, but fans of Disney Channel's Phineas and Ferb can probably put that worry to rest. It was announced earlier this year that the animated show would be getting a theatrical movie in 2013, and we've now learned that Disney has tapped Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine writer Michael Arndt to write a draft of the script. More details after the jump. The La Times [2] learned of Arndt's involvement from an anonymous source familiar with the project. Series creators Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire have already completed a first draft of the script for the Phineas and Ferb movie, though they're apparently still working out the details of the storyline. Not much has been revealed about the plot at this point, but what...

Disney has hired Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") to write a draft of the script for the "Phineas and Ferb" movie at Disney and Mandeville Films reports The Los Angeles Times.
Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire have been penning the initial script in recent months along with their regular work producing the show. Unlike the show, the film will be a mix of live action and animation.
The show itself follows two inventor stepbrothers, their sister who always wants to get them in trouble, and their pet platypus who is also a secret agent.
A "Phineas and Ferb" television movie this past Summer drew nearly eight million viewers. The theatrical movie is currently scheduled for July 2013.

Elmhurst College is reportedly the first to ask incoming students about their sexual orientation. It's on an optional section of a questionnaire, just like they'd ask religious affiliation in order to provide resources.
I'd like to curse Brent Hartinger for sending me Overly Specific Stock Photos, which caused me to waste a huge amount of time. It's not just the images, but the descriptions.
Kris Jenner is heading to The Talk. The momager of the Kardashian clan is an obvious fit for a show about celebrity mothers, but pretty much guarantees I'll never watch the show again.

If past years are any indication, Comic-Con will begin releasing its official 2011 panel schedule later today (Wednesday) with the schedule for Preview Night, Wednesday, July 20. If that happens then we can expect them to follow suit for the rest of the days, so that Thursday will see the release of the Thursday of Con schedule, etc., through Sunday.
Once the official schedules are posted these “TV and Movie Panels and Screenings Updates” will be scaled back to just the date, time, title, and location, since the rest of the information and So Much More (including comics panels, autograph signings, etc.) will be available on the Comic-Con schedule link we’ll provide. Consider this, then, the last of the extremely long posts, and hopefully we’ll be getting that official schedule soon.
Hmm, here’s an interesting matchup: Glee will be in Hall H on Sunday at 10:00; Supernatural will be...

Triple Threat: Dan Povenmire, Gary Marsh, and Swampy Marsh make mischief in the Phineas and Ferb offices.
Phineas and Ferb is the hippest, nerdiest, unlikeliest hit on TV -- and now Disney hopes it can be a SpongeBob-like cash cow.
What better way for a company to say danke schön to its rising-star creatives than hiring Wayne Newton and a bevy of feather-plumed showgirls to help express its feelings? Any lingering doubts Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh might have had about Disney's faith in their animated show, Phineas and Ferb, dissolved when Mr. Las Vegas himself started belting out the theme song for the program's Perry the Platypus character at last June's 2010 Licensing International Expo in Vegas. As Newton gave his own spin to lyrics like "He's a furry little flatfoot who'll never flinch from a fray" and dancers and actors, dressed like the show's characters,...
