Disney has hired Michael Arndt (“Toy Story 3,” “Little Miss Sunshine”) to write a draft of the script for the “Phineas and Ferb” movie at Disney and Mandeville Films reports The Los Angeles Times.
Swampy Marsh and Dan Povenmire have been penning the initial script in recent months along with their regular work producing the show. Unlike the show, the film will be a mix of live action and animation.
The show itself follows two inventor stepbrothers, their sister who always wants to get them in trouble, and their pet platypus who is also a secret agent.
A “Phineas and Ferb” television movie this past Summer drew nearly eight million viewers. The theatrical movie is currently scheduled for July 2013.
