Today, Netflix released a sizzle reel for a bunch of the upcoming shows and movies it will be airing in 2025. The reel is pretty clever: it follows a woman who's trying to surreptitiously watch Netflix during a boring meeting at work. She's then transported into the worlds of her favorite shows; she encounters the guards from Squid Game, dons a gi to fight with the cast of Cobra Kai, gets a white wig and fights a monster like Geralt from The Witcher, and more. The actress was really put through her paces here:
For the most part, we don't actually see footage from any of these shows, just the dramatized reenactments. But there's one important exception: at around the 1:20 mark of the trailer, we actually see a clip from the upcoming second season of Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. The Netflix X account excerpted that bit:

We finally have a clue about “Wednesday” Season 2, and it is all thanks to a promotional clip from Netflix. The streaming giant slipped in a teaser for the new installment into a reel that was shown during its Next on Netflix event for 2025.
The promo reel in question serves as a celebration of nearly every major Netflix original. The video opens on a young woman who is bored during a work meeting and tries to covertly watch “Stranger Things” on Netflix. The signature “Tudum” of the app does not just pique the interest of all of her co-workers; it literally sucks her into the world of Netflix originals.
After crawling over the heads of several “Squid Game” guards, our Netflix-loving hero finds herself in an elevator. Seconds after she enters it, the lights flicker and the mirror behind her breaks, morphing into the signature smiley face of “Black Mirror,” which...

Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) doesn’t have time in her schedule to make your eyes bleed — just yet. She’s way too busy visiting her nemesis, Tyler (Hunter Doohan), in the asylum where he’s being held. A brand-new snippet from Season 2 released as part of the Next on Netflix event proves as much: The haunting footage teases the thrilling upcoming episodes that will premiere in 2025.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar tell Tudum.
Although Nevermore Academy’s No. 1 teen detective is the only cast member in the spine-tingling picture, we know she’ll be joined by familiar faces — and exciting new characters — when Wednesday returns. Fighting back tears and fresh from receiving the first of two standing ovations, Jennifer Lopez told a Sundance Film Festival audience on Sunday night that starring in Bill Condon’s movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman made a lifelong dream come true. But it wasn’t for lack of trying.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet ahead of the world premiere at Park City’s Eccles Center Theatre, the superstar entertainer revealed that she had auditioned for some of Hollywood’s best known modern movie musicals, only to get passed over.
“I remember auditioning for Evita, I remember auditioning for Chicago and for Nine — getting very close on Nine,” said Lopez, outfitted for the premiere in a very method ensemble, a glittering spiderweb gown by designer Valdrin Sahiti. “There was a lot of things that I had always hoped that I could do and just wasn’t the right time.

If you're only familiar with director Steven Soderbergh's take on Danny Ocean's (George Clooney) story in his "Ocean's" trilogy — which kicked off in 2001 — you might not know that the actual first movie centering around a guy named Ocean and a big Las Vegas heist actually came out in 1960. So which ones in this series are the best, and which are the worst?
I feel pretty comfortable saying that I'm going to ruffle some feathers with this ranking, and I'm fine with that. I love picking hyper-specific hills and then dying upon them; it's one of my absolute favorite hobbies. Still, with just five "Ocean's" movies to choose from — putting aside the rumored prequel with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie as Danny's parents — it's a fairly close ranking, but there's still a definitive answer. Here are the "Ocean's" movies ranked from worst to best, and I guarantee people...

Few is the number of singers who've successfully made the leap from the studio to the screen. Frank Sinatra, Cher, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Elvis, Madonna, *ahem* Justin Timberlake perhaps. Kathy Bates recounted an iconic Oscars moment she shared with Meryl Streep after the two lost the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2003.
The “Matlock” star told Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his “Dinner’s On Me” podcast on Tuesday that Streep “sailed by” during a commercial break and dragged her to the bar. The two Academy Award winners lost to “Chicago” star Catherine Zeta-Jones that year.
“It was a very Joan Crawford-Bette Davis moment,” Bates said. “She slammed her evening bag down on the bar and said, ‘I’m having a vodka, straight, neat,’ and I slammed my evening bag down, I said, ‘I’m having what she’s having,’ and we tossed it. It was a moment.”
The actress ultimately remembers the night fondly, but admitted that she really wanted to win for her performance in “About Schmidt.”

Hulu has handed a Season 3 renewal to Tell Me Lies, its popular drama series starring Grace Van Patten and Jackson White and produced by 20th Television. Additionally, Tell Me Lies creator, executive producer and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer has signed an overall deal with 20th TV, a part of Disney Television Studios.
The pickup comes a little over two months after the release of the Season 2 finale, which, just like the Season 1 closer, ended with a cliffhanger twist that threatens to tear the friend group apart.
The renewal was expected. Tell Me Lies stayed in the Hulu Top 15 for over 50 straight days throughout its Season 2 run. Popular with the younger crowd, the series’ social engagement increased 8X vs Season 1 over the same period, with total followers growing 4.3X.

In much the same way that Elphaba soars through the sky while singing “Defying Gravity,” “Wicked” has taken off in the Oscar Best Picture race. According to Gold Derby’s combined odds, the musical sensation ranks in the top five behind “Anora,” “The Brutalist,” “Conclave,” and “Emilia Pérez,” with nowhere to go but up after receiving four Golden Globe nominations. Should “Wicked” prevail on Oscar night, it would join a short list of winners that feature two female main characters, which has happened less frequently than you’d think.
Adapted from Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s Tony-winning Broadway smash, “Wicked” centers on the friendship between green-skinned misfit Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and popular girl Glinda (Ariana Grande), who later become the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch, respectively. Funnily enough, the last Best Picture winner centered on two women was another musical adaptation, 2002’s “Chicago.”

Jeremy Renner has revealed he is doing the final edit on his book about lessons learned through his near fatal snowplow accident, in a conversation at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival.
“It will be two years in January, and I am very proud to overcome a great adversity in my life,” Renner said of the accident in which he was crushed by his own snow-removal tractor on New Year’s Day 2023 at his home in Nevada.
“I’m forever grateful for all the love and support I’ve gotten from the people all around the world, that I never knew existed that propel me to get better. It’s the only thing that really defines me in my life at this point,” he continued.

Lee is currently in post-production on Highest 2 Lowest, his latest collaboration with Washington, and their fifth film together after Mo’ Better Blues, Malcolm X, He Got Game and Inside Man.
“Someone pointed out to me that the last time we worked together was 18 years ago. I was surprised because it didn’t feel that way. I’m very blessed to have done five films together, he is arguably the best actor on the planet,” he said.
Lee, who also cast Washington’s son John David Washington’s son in BlacKkKlansman, suggested he shared a special bond with the actor.

Michael Mann has confirmed he is getting close to completing his screenplay for Heat 2 and that it will be his next movie, in a conversation at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival on Monday.
“We have to have it finished very soon,” he said, suggesting jokingly he would be doing that on “The plane ride back to Los Angeles.”
The director said after Heat 2, he wanted to make his previously mooted movie about the 1968 Battle of Hué, one of the bloodiest chapters of the Vietnam War in which the forces of South Vietnam and U.S troops recaptured the city of Hué over one month of brutal urban fighting.
Questioned on the continuing cult status of the original Heat movie as the 30th anniversary of its release approaches, Mann said he was not surprised by its success and longevity.

Brendan Fraser have given an update on his upcoming post The Whale films, including Searchlight’s Tokyo-Shot Rental Family, and also revealed he would like to get into producing next, in an onstage conversation at the Red Sea Film Festival.

“Rental Family is an absurd sounding, funny title in itself but you can rent just about anything in Tokyo: a hat, a go-kart and a family,” he continued.
The actor plays a long-time Tokyo expat resident, who takes a job at a rental family agency, when he falls on hard times.

Did Jenna Ortega perform autopsies on animals? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Yep, real-life Wednesday Addams vibes right there. In a recent Wired interview, Jenna Ortega opened up about her strange childhood hobby—dissecting dead lizards she found in her backyard. It’s safe to say this places her squarely in the “weirdo” category. And she’s all about embracing it.
But the weirdness doesn’t stop with lizards. Jenna also bonded with fellow oddball Maddie Ziegler, the Dance Moms alum, over their shared quirks. The two instantly clicked while filming The Fallout, and Jenna summed it up perfectly: “We’re the same person in different fonts.” Maddie’s quirk? Spontaneously breaking into characters or pulling weird faces. Jenna’s? Well, performing mini autopsies on backyard critters. Talk about a match made in weirdo heaven.
In the interview, Jenna explained she wasn’t hunting down these animals—she just found them already dead.

Just when fans thought they earned one of the most entertaining adaptations of the Addams family through 2019’s The Addams Family, Jenna Ortega decided to make her splash in the franchise through her own masterpiece live-action series surrounding the life and chaos of Wednesday Addams: Netflix’s Wednesday.
Not only was this series welcomed with open arms, but it was even received with spectacular critical and general reviews. If anything, the storyline and the respective cast members’ acting were so commendable that the show even got a second season greenlit for itself, much to fans’ satisfaction. This season in the talk is, of course, currently in the works.

But while that’s that, it’s worth noting how much salaries the cast members took home from their respective acting gigs in this Gothic coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy thriller television series. That reminds us: The lead actor of the show,...

Michael Douglas is discussing changes in Hollywood over an Oscar-winning acting career that has culminated with the rise of digital technology and streaming platforms.
“The biggest change in my lifetime and career has been digital,” especially in sound production, Douglas said during an informal conversation at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday. He recalled in the 1970s filmmakers having more control over the production process, while the studios focused on the distribution business.
“It’s gone the other way in terms of both studios or in this case streaming services and now this latest chapter is the advent of Silicon Valley dumbing down and just taking over what we thought was this big industry,” Douglas argued.
“Between Apple, Amazon and Netflix, the designs of their companies, they’re so huge, they can afford so much,” he added.

Emily Blunt has hinted that a sequel to 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada, reuniting her with key cast Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, could be in the cards.
“There’s rumblings, there’s stuff churning around, but I don’t know if I can confirm anything completely… but we would be all delighted to work together again,” said Blunt, in response to question on a potential sequel in a conversation event at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival.
Looking back at that early period in her career, Blunt said the success of the film and the impact it had on her trajectory as an actor had been unexpected.
“I just didn’t know anything back then. I remember my agent calling me on the opening weekend and saying, “It made this’. I was like, ‘Is that good?’ When we were filming it, we were weeping with laughter every day.

Updated with the latest: Wednesday’s sophomore season has officially wrapped production. Before this, the latest update on the sophomore season set at Nevermore Academy involved the guest appearance of a certain Mother Monster.
After the runaway success of Netflix and Tim Burton’s Addams Family stand-alone series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer renewed it for a second season in January 2023. That decision came less than three months after the eight-episode Season 1 premiered. It eventually became the most-watched original series ever on the streamer, with more than 252 million views to date, far surpassing Stranger Things Season 4, Dahmer, and Season 1 of Bridgerton on the all-time list.
Season 1 received 12 Emmy nominations, including for Ortega in Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She became just the third Latina ever to be nominated in a leading actress category. The series won four Emmys, though Ortega lost out to Abbott Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson on Emmy night.

Horror fans, rejoice! We have some good news to share about the hit horror series Wednesday. Production on the highly anticipated second season is officially in the can, meaning we're even closer to the show returning to our screens. On top of that, Netflix decided to release a first-look image of the new season featuring Jenna Ortega back as the iconic Wednesday Addams. You can check out the photo above.
In the new image from Wednesday season 2, Wednesday seems to be standing in some sort of cemetery, and as usual, she doesn't seem the happiest if her arms crossed and slight frown means anything. While plot details surrounding the second season are being kept secret, it's obvious that Wednesday is going to find herself in another tricky situation like last season.
In season 1, Wednesday became entangled in a series of supernatural mysteries while attending her parents' old school, Nevermore Academy.

"This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore," they continued.
The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Ortega will return to lead Wednesday Season 2 as the part-time detective, part-time mystery author, and full-time outcast; she’s also set to produce.
