Siberian Huskies at Retordica, Plateau de Retord, Cuvéry, Ain, France

For more than 25 years, an international dog sled race has been taking place in the wilderness of Plateau de Retord. Many mushers love this site to train their teams throughout the winter.

The sled dog racing is subdivided into several categories according to the number of dogs harnessed and in three subcategories according to the breed of dogs harnessed.

Indeed, the faster Siberian Husky compete in a separate category, the other three breeds : Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and Greenland dog run in the same category, while the so-called "Nordic type" dogs participate in their own category.

A good friend got her new pup, Cato. She is going to be trained as a rescue-dog.

Our dog Fedya (1990-2005) and cats Myshka (1991-2008) and her son Vas'ka I (1992-2008). Vas'ka I was so attached to his mother that after her death from eye cancer, he also could not live, fell ill and died a few months later.

Pure country! Taking this photo, I was standing on a crest looking down on a creek in which I noticed tadpoles that were 6-8 inches long! Bull Frogs. I have lived in the country for a few years now and some in Oregon, but I had never seen Bull Frog tadpoles...amazing.

A surreal walk in Epping Forest.

You know, you work, and you work, and you work on your dog's diction. You train daily with lots of positive reinforcement and he comes out with, "Wanna do somefin?". Where did we go wrong?

I know. I'm being weird. Let's blame it on the Autumnal Equinox. Glad it's Friday :-)

The main gas station and diner set: demolished.

The Food Market: burned down.

The police station: demolished due to crumbling foundation.

And finally, this grain elevator: burned down.

Basil realised all the cheese had gone!
