Ordering & cutting

How is fabric sold?

Most fabric is sold by the metre, in half-metre steps from a minimum of 0.5m. Enter the length you need in the quantity box on the product page, for example 2.5 for two and a half metres. Items like haberdashery, yarn and fat quarters are sold per item.

If I order several metres, will it come in one piece?

Fabric is cut to the length you order from the roll. If you need your length in a single continuous piece for a project, please contact us before ordering and we'll check the roll for you.

How do I know the width of a fabric?

The width, along with composition and weight where we have them, is listed in the description on each product page. Most dressmaking fabrics are around 110–150cm wide, but it varies, so always check before working out how much you need.

Do you sell fabric samples or swatches?

We don't sell swatches online at the moment. If you're unsure about a colour or feel, contact us and our team will describe the fabric in more detail or advise on alternatives.

Do I need an account to order?

No. You can check out as a guest, or create an account to track orders and save your details for next time.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express card payments, securely processed by Stripe, as well as PayPal. All prices are in GBP.

Delivery

How much is delivery?

UK standard delivery is £4.95, and free on orders over £100. International delivery prices depend on the country and are shown at checkout. Full delivery details.

How long will my order take?

UK orders usually arrive in 3–5 working days. Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are normally dispatched the same day.

How do I track my order?

Sign in and go to My Orders to see your order history and status.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Yes, we deliver to many countries. Enter your address at checkout to see the options and price for your country. Import duties or local taxes may be charged by the destination country.

Returns & refunds

Can I return fabric?

Fabric cut to length can't be returned unless it's faulty or we sent the wrong item, because it's cut specially for your order. Unused items that aren't cut to order can be returned within 15 days of delivery. Returns policy.

What if my order arrives faulty or wrong?

Please contact us with your order number and a photo before cutting or using the fabric, and we'll put it right. Faulty items.

Bulk & trade orders

Do you offer bulk or trade pricing?

Yes. We supply trade customers, schools, theatres, costume designers and businesses, with special pricing on orders of 50m or more. contact us with the fabrics and quantities you need for a quote.

Can you supply large quantities of one fabric?

We hold over 500,000 metres in stock, and the product page shows how much of each colour is available. For quantities beyond that, contact us and we'll check with our suppliers.
