The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) invites Members of national Parliaments of the EU Member States to attend its Interparliamentary Committee Meeting.

Organised in collaboration with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments (DG PART), the meeting will address the topical subject of "Affordable Housing for All - Policy Approaches and Best Practice Cases in the Member States".

Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (DROI ICM) on “Strengthening the role of the EU at the UN and exchanges of best practices in the human rights field”, 19 March 2025, Brussels

The European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) invites Members of national Parliaments of the EU Member States to attend this Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM).

Organised in collaboration with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments (DG PART), the meeting will address the topical subject of "Strengthening the role of the EU at the UN and exchanges of best practices in the human rights field".


Interparliamentary Conference – EU Tax Symposium 2025 on "Strengthening competitiveness and fairness to build prosperity", 18 March 2025, Brussels

Co-organised by the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC), with the support of the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with national Parliaments (DG PART), and the European Commission (DG TAXUD).

The Conference took place on 18 March 2025 in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.

This EU Tax Symposium 2025 was the second Interparliamentary Conference in the field of taxation as it followed up on the EU Tax Symposium in 2023 that tackled "Challenges ahead and changes needed" which was a great success, notably due to the active participation of national parliaments.

This year's event brought together representatives of the European and national Parliaments as well as high-level representatives of the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, tax experts and stakeholders to discuss the future challenges that the EU and its Member States will be facing in the tax area in the coming years.

This event was aimed at providing an opportunity to learn from each other, to raise awareness about common challenges and to share ideas on how to strengthen competitiveness and fairness in the EU.

International Women’s Day 2025 - FEMM ICM on “Strengthening the Women, Peace and Security Agenda – Upholding Women’s Rights in Defence, Security and Peace Building”, 6 March 2025, Brussels

The European Parliament's Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) invited Members of national Parliaments of the EU Member States, EFTA and EU Candidate Countries to attend this Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM).

Organised in collaboration with the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments (DG PART) on the occasion of International Women's Day 2025, the meeting addressed the topical subject of "Strengthening the Women, Peace and Security Agenda - Upholding Women's Rights in Defence, Security and Peace Building".


Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (AFET ICM) on "the current EU foreign and security policy challenges", 19 February 2025, Brussels

The meeting took place on 19 February 2025 from 9.00 to 12.30 (CET) at the EP in Brussels (ANTALL, room 4Q2).

The EP's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) in cooperation with the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with national Parliaments (DG PART) organised this Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on the current EU foreign and security policy challenges with two sessions on the topics: i) 'Transatlantic relations in challenging times' and ii) 'Towards a multipolar world - what role for the European Union?'.


European Parliamentary Week 2025, 17-18 February 2025, Brussels

The European Parliament together with the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland, representing the parliamentary dimension of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, organised the European Parliamentary Week 2025 on 17 and 18 February 2025.

This high-level event gathers national Parliamentarians from the European Union, candidate and observers countries as well as Members of the European Parliament to discuss economic, budgetary and social matters. This event consists of the Interparliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the European Union and the European Semester Conference.

COSAC Chairpersons’ Meeting in Warsaw: Setting the Stage for the Polish EU Council Presidency

The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting marks the opening event of the parliamentary dimension of the Council of the EU by the Polish Sejm of the Republic.

On 26-27 January 2025, the Chairpersons of COSAC will convene at the Senate of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw for a key meeting. Hosted by the Polish Parliament, the event will bring together parliamentary representatives to outline the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and discuss pressing challenges facing the EU. The European Parliament delegation will be composed of Mr. Esteban González-Pons, Vice-President responsible for relations with national Parliaments and COSAC, and Mr. Sven Simon, Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO).

Interparliamentary Committee Meeting on “Strengthening cooperation for a timely and correct enforcement of EU law benefitting EU citizens” (PETI ICM), 28 January 2025, Brussels

The event took place on Tuesday, 28 January 2025 from 15.00 to 18.30 in the European Parliament in Brussels (Room Antall 6Q2), in physical presence only.

The meeting was structured around two sessions. First panel discussed the enforcement of EU law benefitting EU citizens followed by an exchange of views with national parliaments and MEP's. The second session looked into how to contribute in ensuring a timely and correct enforcement of EU law, also followed by a debate with Members of national Parliaments and the European Parliament.

The fifth Interparliamentary Committee Meeting on 'The situation of the Rule of Law in the EU' (LIBE ICM), 12 December 2024, Brussels

The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) with the support of the Directorate for relations with National Parliaments will organised an Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on “The situation of the Rule of Law in the EU”.

This in-person meeting took place on Thursday, 12 December 2024, from 9:30 to 12:30, in the European Parliament premises in Brussels.

The interparliamentary committee meeting was dedicated to the assessment of the fifth Commission's Rule of Law Report with a specific emphasis on the 'Democracy, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights' (DRF) mechanism and the role that civil society organisations can play in protecting the Rule of Law. The meeting served as a follow up on previous such interparliamentary meetings, including the one which took place in December 2023, as well as on the Parliament's resolution of 28 February 2024 on the Commission's 2023 Rule of Law Report.

Interparliamentary Committee Meeting on 'E-justice: lessons learned from national perspectives' (JURI ICM), 4 December 2024, Brussels

The meeting took place on Wednesday, 4 December from 10:30 - 12:30 CET in the European Parliament in Brussels, room ANTALL 4Q1.

The European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI), in cooperation with the Legislative Dialogue Unit of the Directorate for Relations with national Parliaments (DG PART), invited Members of national Parliaments of the EU Member States to attend an Interparliamentary Committee Meeting (ICM) on 'E-justice: lessons learned from national perspectives'. Together with the MEPs, they discussed the current state of play of the digitalisation of justice and the judiciary, specifically on civil and commercial matters.

The Belgian Presidency organised the LXXI Plenary Meeting of COSAC from 24 to 26 March 2024 at the European Parliament, in Brussels.

The Meeting of Chairpersons of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for European Union Affairs (COSAC) convened on 14-15 January 2024, in Namur, Belgium.

The Belgian Presidency will host the COSAC Chairpersons’ meeting in Namur on Sunday 14 January and Monday 15 January.
