The Settlement Discipline Regime

 
The Settlement Discipline Regime (SDR)  is a key requirement of the  Central Securities Depository Regulation (CSDR), aimed at enhancing operational efficiency of CSDs and ensuring timely and efficient settlement across the EU. 

Under this regime, Euronext Securities Porto: 

  • Introduced a set of rules and procedures  to encourage the settlement of transactions on the intended settlement date;
  • Adopted various measures to prevent settlement fails;
  • Analysed the measures foreseen in the CSDR to address settlement fails;
  • Promotes dialogue and sharing of relevant information on the subject with the Market; 
  • Provides its Participants with the essential functionalities required following the regime's entry into force on February 1, 2022.

Measures to Improve Settlement Efficiency

  1. Implementation of all measures outlined in the CSDR to prevent settlement failures.
  2. Daily monitoring of settlement failures.
  3. Regular meetings with participants to analyze the root causes of settlement failures and identify appropriate corrective measures.
