The module Organic groups access control (og_access) provides for Access (visibility) for groups and/or group content.

Enabling the module starts a permission rebuild process which can take some time to finish.

Note that setting visibility to private for a Group does not imply its content is private too.

Organic group permissions can be set for a group type or a specific group.
