CurrentWare’s Commitment to Data Security & Privacy

CurrentWare is committed to the security of its platform, its customers, and their data. Click the button below to learn more about the security measures we implement internally and within the CurrentWare Suite.

Company History

Since 2003 CurrentWare has been a Canadian software company that provides solutions for a wide array of government and private organizations including schools, hospitals, libraries, and for-profit businesses.

CurrentWare’s customers improve their user productivity, data security, and business intelligence with advanced awareness and control over how technology is used in their organization.

2003 It all started with BrowseControl

Our story begins in 2003 with CurrentWare founders Divyesh Lakhani and Jay Lakhani launching BrowseControl as CurrentWare’s very first product. Our flagship product has led us since its release, providing our customers with the ability to control web browsing on company computers.

Since 2003 the internet has grown to a point where it has become involved in all aspects of our lives. Its potential in the workplace is limitless and even back then business owners knew that they needed a solution to protect their network against the ever-expanding internet.

2004 BrowseReporter is Launched

In 2004 we expanded our product line to include BrowseReporter, a tool that allows our customers to monitor and generate reports on how their employees were using the internet in the workplace.

BrowseReporter was the perfect complement to BrowseControl. Many employers wanted to continue restricting clearly objectionable websites while giving their employees greater autonomy over their use of the internet as a whole.

BrowseReporter allowed employees the freedom to use the internet freely while giving their employers the peace of mind that abuse of the internet could be reported and addressed.

2007 The Suite is Complete

The launch of BrowseReporter ushered in a new era of expansion for CurrentWare’s product line, with us releasing two new products in rapid succession 2 years later: AccessPatrol and enPowerManager.

AccessPatrol was a reaction to the rise of USB sticks, as sensitive company data could now easily be stolen from work. AccessPatrol helped to protect our customers against data breaches and intellectual property theft by blocking employees from using USB ports without authorization.

enPowerManager was born out of the need to combat rising electrical costs. It provided our customers with an easy and affordable way to remotely control the power schedules of company computers. Thanks to enPowerManager our customers have saved countless dollars on wasted energy usage caused by employees forgetting to shut down their computers before leaving the office.

2021 The Web console is Launched

The introduction of the Web Console in February 2021 revolutionized how CurrentWare was managed.

Rather than installing multiple CurrentWare Consoles on each administrator’s computer, the Web Console allowed admins to remotely connect to the CurrentWare administrative console from the convenience of a web browser.

The technology behind the Web Console opened new capabilities that weren’t possible on the legacy desktop console, allowing for greater feature developments.

CurrentWare Suite — The Complete Workforce Platform

One integrated console for productivity analytics, web filtering, device control, and power management. Run the full suite, or start with just the modules you need.
