Bright Rims Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (BRM) was incorporated on 18 May 1981 to manufacture JRD aluminium alloy wheels for motor vehicles. The factory is located on a 18-hectare site in Selangor, Malaysia. BRM plans to build its second plant on a 60 hectare site next to Proton City in Tanjung Malim, Perak. This plant activities include automotive parts manufacturing and motorcycle assembly.
The founder and Managing Director of the company is Dato' Jimmy Liew. To ensure the quality of products, he has travelled all over the world to look for the right partners with the right technology. Dato' s untiring efforts have helped BRM to gain world-class technical expertise and know-how from leading German companies in the field. As a result, BRM is the first company in Malaysia to obtain the German TUV and TS16949 certification for its products.
BRM is the pioneer and the largest alloy wheel manufacturer in Malaysia. BRM carries out an integrated process for the manufacture of wheels from ingots (raw material) to final wheel finishing. The company was awarded the Pioneer Status by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) and the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) for the manufacture of alloy wheel.
BRM has successfully established itself as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for many automakers & assemblers in Malaysia. BRM has captured more than 90% of the OEM market in Malaysia. The customers include: Proton, Perodua, Citroen, Daihatsu, Ford, Hyundai, Isuzu, KIA, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Suzuki, Fiat and other vehicle manufacturers.
On 28th November 2007, Dato' Jimmy Liew acquired a substantial shareholding in AutoAir Holdings Berhad (member of KLSE) and assumed the position of Executive Director. Currently, Dato' Jimmy Liew is the Group Managing Director of AutoAir Holdings Berhad.
BRM is extending the business into property development. One of the subsidiaries - JRD Development Sdn. Bhd. is currently undertaking an apartment building project. In the planning is a mixed development project consisting of residential and retail properties.
