Top Oilers News

  • Oilers' Frederik Andersen: Linking up with Edmonton

Andersen signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Oilers on Wednesday, per PuckPedia.

The deal's value could increase to $2.8 million with performance bonuses. Andersen can earn up to $1 million in bonuses for games played, and an additional $200,000 per playoff round the Oilers win in which he plays at least half of the games. It's a worthy gamble for the Oilers, who will get a Stanley Cup-winning goalie on the roster to pair with Tristan Jarry, as well as a quality depth option in Devon Levi. Given the various question marks with all three netminders, it wouldn't be surprising for Edmonton to carry all three throughout the season.

  • Oilers' Max Jones: Back with Edmonton

Jones (lower body) signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Oilers on Wednesday.

Jones had just five points with 22 shots on net and 56 hits over 21 regular-season outings with the Oilers last season. He also had 18 points in 39 games with AHL Bakersfield. He ended the season sidelined by an injury, but he was expected to be healthy in May. That should clear the way for Jones to compete for bottom-six minutes in training camp.

  • Oilers' Mathieu Joseph: Joining Edmonton on one-year deal

Joseph signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Oilers on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Joseph had 11 points, 36 shots on net, 115 hits, 34 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 51 regular-season outings between the Blues and the Kings in 2025-26. The 29-year-old forward will be on his fifth NHL team in his career. If Joseph makes the Oilers' roster in training camp, he'll likely fill a bottom-six role.

  • Oilers' Kasperi Kapanen: Sticking with Edmonton

Kapanen signed a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Oilers on Wednesday.

Kapanen tested the market but opted to stick in a familiar spot for another campaign. The 29-year-old winger produced eight goals, nine assists, 65 shots on net, 75 hits and 14 PIM over 41 regular-season outings with Edmonton in 2025-26. When healthy, he has previously shown 30-point potential. However, fantasy managers should expect something more in the range of 20-25 points with moderate physicality if he continues to fill a middle-six role in 2026-27.

  • Oilers' Eduards Tralmaks: Agrees to two-way contract

Tralmaks signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Wednesday.

Tralmaks hasn't made his NHL debut yet, but he was productive with AHL Grand Rapids in 2025-26. He recorded 26 goals, 16 assists and 14 PIM across 64 regular-season appearances with Detroit's top minor-league affiliate. It wouldn't be surprising to see him spend the bulk of his time in the minors next campaign.

  • Oilers' Ryan Shea: Signs with Edmonton

Shea signed a five-year, $20 million contract with the Oilers on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Shea had a career-best regular season with the Penguins in 2025-26, recording six goals, 29 assists, 92 blocked shots, 38 hits and 22 PIM while averaging 18:53 of ice time. The 29-year-old should occupy a third-pairing role and see time on the penalty kill in the 2026-27 campaign for the Oilers.

  • Oilers' Zack Sharp: Traded Wednesday

Sharp and Shakir Mukhamadullin were acquired by Edmonton from San Jose on Wednesday in exchange for Darnell Nurse.

Sharp had five goals and 19 points in 37 appearances with Western Michigan University as a sophomore in 2025-26. The Sharks took him with the No. 124 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. The 21-year-old is likely to be a long-term project for the Oilers, so don't expect him to be in the conversation for an NHL roster spot over the next couple of years.

  • Oilers' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Sent to Edmonton

Mukhamadullin and Zack Sharp were traded to the Oilers from the Sharks on Wednesday in exchange for Darnell Nurse.

Mukhamadullin made a career-high 50 regular-season NHL appearances with the Sharks in 2025-26. He recorded five goals, seven assists, 63 blocked shots, 35 hits and 22 PIM while averaging 17:09 of playing time. He could battle for a regular spot on Edmonton's third pairing this campaign.

  • Oilers' Devon Levi: Traded for draft pick

Levi was acquired along with a 2028 seventh-round pick by Edmonton from Buffalo on Wednesday in exchange for a 2028 third-round selection.

At one point, Levi was considered Buffalo's future starting goaltender. However, he struggled to make an impact in the NHL, posting a 3.29 GAA and an .894 save percentage across 39 career regular-season outings with the Sabres. It got to the point where he no longer fit into Buffalo's plans, motivating the move to Edmonton. The Oilers need goaltending, so this is a golden opportunity for Levi to show that those former expectations weren't misplaced. However, the team has a crowded crease entering training camp with Levi, Tristan Jarry and Frederik Andersen competing for spots.

  • Oilers' Malcom Gastrin: Selected by Oilers in Round 3

Gastrin was the 84th overall pick by Edmonton in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.

Gastrin becomes the second member of his family to be drafted in two years, as his older brother Milton was selected No. 37 overall by Washington in 2025 and recently dealt to St. Louis in the Jordan Kyrou trade. Malcom isn't quite as offensively gifted as his brother, but he does have extremely strong hockey sense, which allows him to constantly get open and create scoring chances. Gastrin also has time on his side, as he won't turn 18 years of age until the middle of August. He should be in the conversation for the Swedish World Junior team this upcoming holiday season.

  • Oilers' Rudolfs Berzkalns: BC commit off to Edmonton

Berzkalns was the 58th overall pick by Edmonton in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.

Born in Latvia, Berzkalns played his youth hockey in upstate New York before spending the past two years with Muskegon of the USHL. He took on an increased offensive role this past season, posting 13 goals and 25 points in 48 games before adding 10 points in 12 playoff appearances. At 6-foot-4 and north of 200 pounds, Berzkalns is a big-bodied center with a reasonable amount of skill. He plays a simple, direct game, which should serve him well when he heads to Boston College in the fall. Berzkalns is likely to be in line for an immediate role with the Eagles upon arriving on campus.

  • Oilers' Connor Murphy: Lands five-year contract

Murphy signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract with Edmonton on Monday, per PuckPedia.

Murphy collected five goals, 17 points, 70 shots on net, 138 blocked shots, 90 hits and 71 PIM across 80 regular-season games between Edmonton and Chicago in 2025-26. He also picked up two goals, one assist, 12 hits and 15 blocks in six outings during the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Oilers. Murphy will probably occupy a bottom-four role while seeing plenty of time on the penalty kill in the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Inks five-year contract

Dickinson signed a five-year, $20 million contract with Edmonton on Sunday.

Dickinson had seven goals, 17 points, 73 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and 85 hits across 64 regular-season appearances between Edmonton and Chicago in 2025-26. He also had two goals and one assist in four playoff outings for the Oilers. During the 2026-27 campaign, Dickinson will probably occupy a bottom-six role and see plenty of time on the penalty kill.

  • Oilers' Connor Ungar: Agrees to one-year deal

Ungar signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Thursday.

Ungar had a 2.51 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 13 outings with AHL Bakersfield in the 2025-26 regular season. He also posted an 11-9-4 record and 2.33 GAA across 25 ECHL regular-season appearances between Fort Wayne, Greensboro and Orlando. The 24-year-old hasn't played in the NHL and is expected to begin 2026-27 in the minors.

  • Oilers' Aku Raty: Lands two-way deal

Raty signed a one-year, two-way contract with Edmonton on Monday.

Raty produced 20 goals and 57 points in 51 regular-season games for Karpat of Finland's Liiga in 2025-26. He will compete for a bottom-six role with the Oilers during training camp. However, he could also spend time in the minors or head back to Europe if he fails to crack Edmonton's Opening Night roster.
