Ideally set in the Obama Onsen district of Unzen, Iseya, Seaview Private Oceanside Bath is situated 44 km from Nagasaki Museum of History, 45 km from Nagasaki Station and 50 km from Peace Park. During our 16-day holiday in Japan, my husband & I, together with another couple, stayed in 7 ryokans/hotels & Iseya is the BEST! The hotel is new & clean & the facilities are so good! We opted for dinner & breakfast in the hotel & we were so happy & satisfied with the quality & freshness of the food & service level of the attending staff who went beyond their call of duty to make us comfortable! Special mention goes to a male service staff (I think he is the supervisor; forgot his name but was Mayama or something) who served us dinner on 15 Nov. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine & sake to go with our dinner & asked for his recommendation. The sake he recommended was so good, we decided to buy 2 extra bottles to bring home! When this same male service staff heard from us that we had to rush off to catch the ferry to Kumamoto the next morning & breakfast only starts at 7.30am, he left word for our breakfast to be ready earlier. We were pleasantly surprised & so grateful that a new batch of service staff were waiting for us at the dining room when we went down to checkout at 7.20am on 16 Nov. Really fantastic service! Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei is located in the Nagasaki Area, a 10-minute drive from Nagasaki Peace Park. Featuring views of the beautiful Nagasaki, it offers a public bath and free parking. Beautiful setting and design. Super friendly staff. Authentic Japanese breakfast included. We don’t eat meat and they made sure there were plenty of fish and vegetable dishes every morning.

Set 48 km from Nagasaki Museum of History, UNZEN HANZUIRYO by Onko Chishin offers 4-star accommodation in Unzen and has an open-air bath, a garden and a shared lounge. This is an outstanding unique property if you like hot thermal spas. While I am not a fan of public bathing I found some hours when no one was there and I snuck in. What a luxury!!!! For next year I am getting suite with the private hot thermal spa so I don’t have to worry about the privacy. That having been said this place is six stars the service the food the Japanese ambiance and the entire experience is complete. I am an international traveler and I go to high end places only. This place was an amazing surprise in the middle of Unzen. I highly highly recommend it

Located in Unzen, within 47 km of Nagasaki Museum of History and 48 km of Nagasaki Station, Unzen Kyushu Hotel provides accommodation with a bar as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The location was perfect right next to Unzen Jigoku and waking up to the view outside our hotel room was peaceful and prayerful. The private onsen in the room was heavenly and we took advantage of it sometimes multiple times a day. The meals (breakfast and dinner courses) were delicious and gave us a wide range of Japanese dishes. It was also nice to be able to walk down in our Japanese PJ's to relaxingly eat and gaze out the window on Unzen Jigoku. The service was very attentive. The rooms were very spacious.

Reopening December 15, 2022! Unzen Miyazaki Ryokan features a 1,650-square-meter Japanese garden, natural hot spring baths, free Wi-Fi, an on-site bar, cafe, souvenir shop and an exclusive lounge for... Spacious table-seating in the dining room, all tables having a view of the garden (really a park-like setting) and a menu that deserves an international rating at the highest levels, and that applies to both dinner (the landscape outside the glass wall is softly illuminated) and breakfast that offers Western coffee selections and the best of Japanese tea. We booked two nights and we were delightfully surprised to find that both the dinner and breakfast menus were varied. The wait staff and chefs paced the meal to our habits, and as English-speaking guests we never were challenged in communications.

Azumaen offers a sauna and a hot spring bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Unzen, 47 km from Nagasaki Museum of History. Everything exceeded our expectations from the stuff to the facilities. I mentioned in a message that we'll be arriving around 6pm via bus and they were waiting to pick us up from the bus stop. 100% recommended.

Boasting public baths and a sky lounge with beautiful views of Nagasaki, Inasayama Kanko Hotel is a 10-minute drive from JR Nagasaki Train Station. View was amazing. Staff has been very helpful and friendly.
