Ideally located in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Kawaramachi Jokyoji is set 1 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, 1.5 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto and 1.7 km... This might be the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed at. Even though it's close to the bustling Shijo/Kawaramachi intersection (full of shopping malls and close to public transportation), it's set in a quiet side street, and when you enter, it feels like entering the halls of a Buddhist temple (which is, in fact, located right next to the entrance). Staff are extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. Rooms are comfortable and spacious (especially by Japanese standards), and the hot bath (sento) is a great place to relax, even in the middle of the night. I'd also recommend reserving a spot for the 7am ceremony at the temple that's integrated into the building, it's a great cultural experience and you get to see some of the temple artifacts after the ceremony concludes.

Well set in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, Saju Kyoto 茶住 京都 is located 600 metres from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, 1.6 km from Kyoto International Manga Museum and 1.9 km from Samurai... The staff went above and beyond to make the stay as unique and comfortable as possible! The staff took our luggage up to our room, we were invited to a matcha tea ceremony in our room, and there is complimentary sake downstairs. I was nervous about how thin the futon is, but I honestly had the best nights of sleep while here! All staff were so kind and gave several recommendations of different places to go to.

Well located in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, KABIN Machi is located less than 1 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, a 19-minute walk from Kyoto International Manga Museum and 1.7 km... Kabin Machi was a very comfortable and quiet hotel. It was lovely to stay at a chill place where they still had the larger hotel amenties (laundry, gym, luggage storage) at the sister hotel down the street. I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Kyoto.

Boasting a garden and a restaurant, Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Shijo is ideally set in the centre of Kyoto, 700 metres from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall. The staff, breakfast, rooms and location was all fantastic. Short easy walk to Nishi Market. Will definitely stay here again.

In a prime location in the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, Hotel GOCO stay Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi is set 1.2 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, 1.3 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto and 1.4 km... Loved the location as it was very close to shopping street. Staff on the hotel were very kind and welcoming, also very helpful in everything I needed. Room is comfortable and the washing machine and dryer really helped!
