You must be bored coming to learn about me today :)

I'm just a normal person that enjoys the freedom that Gentoo provides.

I enjoy fixing and solving problems so no one else has to deal with them.

My two main interests in Gentoo are release engineering and documentation.

For fun I do also enjoy working on smaller problems in dist kernel, toolchain and accessibility.

You'll also find me monitoring support questions and asking question. I'm mostly scoping upcoming bugs for work and seeing if I can help solve them with the Gentoo devs early. (The users and devs are much nicer to deal with than our shouting clients because something broke ;) )

Gentoo Wiki Most Help Wanted List

Users often feel overwhelmed when trying to get involved with contributing to the Gentoo wiki for the first time. While the answer is usually fix any mistake you see in an article once you found the answer. For some users, they want to tackle a bigger task. This is a list of articles along my travels where at least I felt is greatly outdated and needs a refresh. If you are up a challenge and know the software, then why not give one a go and cross it off the list!

1. Embedded_Handbook

2. Custom_Initramfs

3. User:Immolo/Where_to_go_next

4. CachyOS-Kernel

5. zram - Unnecessarily complex and doesn't highlight the caveats of where it hurts performance in Gentoo compared to other distros.

6. FAQ More like a time capsule at this point, please update!

Gentoo support common issues tracker

It's common to find yourself repeating the same answers over and over in Gentoo while doing support. When you are finding a pattern that it's being asked enough times that you notice how many times you said the same thing, then Gentoo likely has a doc problem that needs to be looked into.

The article linked below is a trial project to allow IRC, forum and silo users that do support in Gentoo to record the question asked and give rough notes on how they solve it. It does not need to be formatted correctly nor confirmed, even an IRC log will do!

Sandbox articles

Sandbox articles in my user space are usually used for preparing large edits for Gentoo's handbook or Project pages.

Important
These are open to all to edit, however do note your edits need to follow the wiki standards and have clear summaries of what your change improves as they will be shown once moved to the main wiki.

Articles

These are completed articles which are ready for community to use and improve on.

I got lazy and stopped updating this list, see here if you want an up to date list of stuff I'm working on.
