Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of Valta (“Valta”, “we”, “us”) at valta.si. By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them.
What Valta is
Valta is a hosted vault of Markdown notes with an MCP server. AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code connect to it to save, search, read and link your notes. Valta stores and organizes notes; your AI assistant does the writing. No AI model runs on Valta’s side.
Plans and billing
- Free has the limits shown on the pricing page (one vault and a set number of notes).
- Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with the limits shown on the pricing page.
- Team is a subscription billed per seat, monthly or yearly, with a minimum number of seats.
- Founder lifetime is a one-time payment for Pro, offered for a limited time. Its price steps up as it sells and it closes after the last step. “Lifetime” means for as long as we operate Valta; if we ever shut Valta down, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before.
Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Seat changes on Team are prorated by Stripe.
“Unlimited” notes are subject to fair use, currently 10,000 notes per vault. The founder lifetime covers Pro as it is offered to subscribers; it does not include separately priced add-ons we may offer later.
Your account, keys and connected apps
You sign in with your email and a password. You can create API keys and connect AI apps to your account, and each one can read and change the vaults it can reach. Keep your password, keys and connected apps secure: you are responsible for activity under them. You can revoke a key or disconnect an app at any time.
A Pro plan is for one person. For several people, use Team: every member signs in with their own account.
Teams
The person who buys Team owns the team and its billing. Owners and admins invite and remove members, set roles and decide who can open each team vault. Notes saved in a team vault belong to the team: when a member leaves or is removed, their notes in team vaults stay, and their personal vaults go with them. If a team’s subscription ends, its vaults become read only and can still be exported.
Your notes
Your notes are yours. We don’t claim rights in them, don’t sell them, and don’t use them to train AI models. We store them so you and your connected AIs can use them (see the Privacy Policy). You can export any vault as Markdown at any time, on every plan, and delete notes, vaults or your account.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- store or share illegal content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to get around plan limits, rate limits or security, or access vaults that aren’t yours;
- overload, attack or probe the service;
- resell access to Valta.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and stop requests that put the service at risk.
AI assistants and third parties
Valta works inside AI apps we don’t control. What those apps do with the notes they read is governed by their own terms. Their availability, features and limits are set by their providers.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Valta available but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may change or improve features; we won’t remove the ability to export your notes.
Refunds
See the Refund Policy.
Liability
Valta is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Keep your own copies of anything important; exports make that easy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, email account holders.
