Overview
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code or any other MCP client to Urlbox by adding one URL and signing in with your Urlbox account.
Add https://api.urlbox.com/mcp to your AI assistant or coding agent, then sign in with your Urlbox account. No key needed.
That connects your agent to Urlbox's remote MCP server. It can then take screenshots, make PDFs and videos, turn pages into Markdown, look up your renders and check your usage, all from a conversation. Renders bill exactly like API requests.
Let your agent set itself up
Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any coding agent. No key needed.
Connect to the Urlbox MCP server at https://api.urlbox.com/mcp using OAuth sign-in (no API key). Detect which agent you are and run the right command (or edit the right config file) to add it under the name "urlbox" as a Streamable HTTP server, then tell me how to authenticate so I can sign in with my Urlbox account. Once I have signed in, list its tools to confirm it works. Setup for each client: https://urlbox.com/docs/agents/mcp
Connect
| Your agent | Setup |
|---|---|
| Claude (web, Desktop and mobile), ChatGPT | Add a custom connector with the URL, then sign in |
| Claude Code | claude mcp add --transport http --scope user urlbox https://api.urlbox.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in |
| Codex | codex mcp add urlbox --url https://api.urlbox.com/mcp, then codex mcp login urlbox |
| Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Antigravity, Zed, OpenCode | Add the URL to the agent's MCP config, then sign in |
| Any other client that supports OAuth for remote MCP servers | Add the URL, then sign in when asked |
The exact command or config for each client is on Connect your agent, with Add to Cursor and Install in VS Code buttons.
When you sign in, you choose the organisation, an access level (Full access, Render and read or Read only) and a default project for renders. You can see and revoke connections under Organisation settings, AI agents. See Signing in.
Other ways to connect
- Headless, CI or clients without OAuth support: use an organisation API key instead of signing in. See Using an API key instead.
- Clients that can only start local servers: the
@urlbox/screenshot-mcpnpm package is a local bridge to the remote server. See Clients that only run local servers. - Terminal agents and shell scripts: drive the Urlbox CLI with its agent skill. See Using the CLI from an AI agent.
