Is there really a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever, no card required. You get up to 20 MB per file, 4 custom links, 4 short links, and 15,000 page loads a month. That is already more generous than most paid entry plans elsewhere.
Can I use the Claude or ChatGPT connector on the free plan?
Yes: the AI connector works on every plan, including Free. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your account once, then just ask it to publish a site for you, no coding and no API key needed. That is different from the REST API below, which is a paid feature: the connector needs no upgrade at all.
What is pay-as-you-go and do I have to use it?
It is optional and available on Business and up. Those plans include a generous monthly page load allotment. If you expect to go over, you can opt in to pay-as-you-go and pay $1 per extra 100,000 page loads, billed only for what you actually use. Prefer a fixed bill? Leave it off and you are never billed beyond your plan price: once your included page loads and the margin after them are used up, your pages pause until next month instead.
What happens if I use all my included page loads with overage turned off?
Your account stays active and your existing links are never deleted. Every page load counts, including search engines and other bots. Once you have used all your included page loads, your pages keep working for a 10% margin, then pause until the 1st of next month. Nothing is deleted, and your pages come back on their own when the month turns. With pay-as-you-go off you are never billed beyond your plan price. To keep your pages running past the margin, upgrade your plan, or turn pay-as-you-go on if your plan is Business or higher.
Can I switch plans or cancel any time?
Any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of your billing period. If you downgrade, your existing files and links keep working, you simply cannot create new ones beyond the lower plan's limits.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. Every paid plan comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy within 7 days of your payment, email us at contact@uploadthefile.com and we will refund you in full. Refunds are handled personally by our team, there is no automated, self-service refund flow, so just reach out by email and we will take care of it. The guarantee covers plan subscriptions only. Domain registrations are non-refundable. A domain is purchased on your behalf the moment you order it.
How does annual billing work?
Annual billing is paid once a year at a lower effective monthly rate, roughly 2 months free versus paying monthly. You can see both prices with the monthly/annual toggle above.
What are custom links, and is password protection included?
A custom link lets you pick your page’s address, your-name.upload.tf, instead of a random one. Free includes 4, Pro 100, and Business Unlimited. Pro and Business also let you lock any page behind a password, and Business adds team seats, priority support, and API access.
Can visitors ask questions about my PDF?
Yes. Switch on chat for a PDF and visitors can ask it questions; answers come only from that document. Free: 2 PDFs, 3 pages each. Pro and Business: 10 PDFs, 15 pages each. Nothing visitors type is kept.
