Not to create an ebook or to export it. An account is what lets you keep one: saving to your dashboard, reopening it on another device, Brand Themes, AI images, API keys and the MCP. Sign up when you want to keep your work, not before. An ebook you started while signed out is preserved when you create the account, so nothing has to be redone.

Only the pages made from your actual document. The cover, the table of contents and the CTA page are always free, so a 5-content-page ebook can easily be an 8-page PDF.

Nothing is lost: you keep editing, previewing and saving it. Exporting it as a PDF uses a Creator Pack export (a one-time Pack includes 20), or you can go Pro, which removes the length limit entirely.

A one-time purchase for when you need a few serious PDFs without a subscription: $9 for 20 PDF exports with no page limit and without Unplain branding, plus 30 AI images in total for covers and in-book images. Nothing expires, and you can buy another Pack whenever you need more. Short exports with the badge stay free and unlimited, so a Pack export is only used when an ebook is longer than 10 content pages or you remove the branding.

The Creator Pack is best for a few PDFs: a lead magnet, a report, an ebook or two. Pro is best for ongoing publishing: unlimited exports with nothing to count, 60 AI images every month, unlimited saved projects, up to 25 Brand Themes and your own fonts. If you publish every month, Pro is the better deal.

It waits for you. While you are on Pro your exports are unlimited, so your Pack exports stay untouched, and Pack AI images are only used after your monthly 60. If you ever leave Pro, whatever is left in your Pack works exactly as before.

Saving needs a free account, which keeps up to 5 ebooks in the cloud; Pro is unlimited. Existing projects always stay accessible, and the limit only applies to creating new ones.

One allowance covers both: AI cover art and AI images inside the ebook draw on the same pool. Free includes 3 lifetime generations, for a cover or images inside the document. Pro includes 60 every month. A Creator Pack adds 30 in total, which never expire. Uploading your own images is unlimited on every plan.

No. The MCP is simply another way to use Unplain, included with every account at no extra cost. Connect it to Claude or any MCP client and you get exactly the capabilities of the plan you already have: the same document length limit, the same saved-project limit, the same branding rules. There is no separate MCP plan.

Yes, identically. An ebook created through the MCP counts toward your saved projects, and its PDF follows the same length limit and branding rules as one exported from the app. A cover or an in-book image your assistant generates spends the same AI image allowance as generating one in the app, and Brand Themes it creates count against the same Brand Theme limit. A Creator Pack works there too, spent by the same rules. There is no separate MCP allowance for anything. Upgrading to Pro lifts those limits in both places at once.

Only the person who creates the organization, on their Pro plan. Up to 5 teammates join it with a free account and work on that Pro plan inside the organization: unlimited length and exports, no Unplain badge, up to 25 Brand Themes per workspace and one shared pool of 60 AI images every month. The 5 teammates are counted across all the organizations you own, and a teammate still has their own Personal workspace on their own plan.

Teammates can create, edit and export documents, use and edit the Brand Themes, generate AI images from the shared pool, and make their own API key for the organization. The owner invites and removes people, decides the organization's default Brand Theme, moves documents out of it, and can delete it. Nobody sees another person's Personal documents.

The organization keeps working until the end of the period the owner has paid for, and everyone in it is told the date in the app. Then it pauses: nothing is deleted, teammates cannot open it, and the owner can still read and export it on Free terms. If the owner subscribes again, everything is back at once.

One pool for the whole organization, 60 images every billing period on the owner's plan, used by anyone in it for covers and in-book images. If the owner has a Creator Pack, its images top the pool up once it runs out. Images a teammate makes in their own Personal workspace come from their own allowance.

Yes, one at a time is the safe way, and Unplain tells you who is in it. If two people save, the second is asked what to do (keep both as a copy, take the latest, or replace it with their version) instead of silently overwriting the other's work.

Yes. Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription you can cancel at any time from your account. The Creator Pack is not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel.
