Beautiful wrapping, but terrible in reality

Repeated outages, weak support, and compensation that feels like a quest

I reviewed a large export of Play2Go.cloud’s own public chat covering 01.10.2025 to 17.04.2026. I did not base this on one or two random screenshots, but on repeated patterns across many messages: complaints about packet loss, unstable routing, speed drops, outages in different locations, long ticket delays, and constant explanations involving DDoS attacks, providers, routers, or “new equipment coming soon.” The main issue is not even that incidents happened, but that they seemed to happen over and over again, while customers were often left waiting without clear answers.

What stood out the most was support quality. Throughout the period, many users complained that tickets were ignored for 2, 5, even 6–7 days, while services remained degraded or completely unavailable. At the same time, compensation was repeatedly mentioned by the administration, but in practice it looked inconsistent and unclear: sometimes people were told it would be credited automatically, other times they were told to contact support and prove the issue first. That does not feel like a transparent or reliable compensation policy.

Based on their own chat history, Play2Go.cloud does not look like a stable hosting provider to me. I am not calling it a scam, but I also cannot call it reliable. If you only need a cheap VPS for non-critical tasks, maybe you can accept the risk. But if you need predictable uptime, normal support response times, and infrastructure that does not feel like a lottery, I would not recommend this provider.

Unfortunately, Trustpilot does not allow me to publish the full version of my review. I had to shorten it with ChatGPT so I could fit the review into the text box.

Persistent network ineptitude, 'quick-fix' solutions, and a total dismissal of the client's technical concerns.

If you need a stable connection and a functional network stack, look elsewhere. The technical side of Play2Go is in a deplorable state.

The facts (Ticket Nos: 37348, 38001):
- Network Loops: It took them over 24 hours to fail at fixing a loop within their own network. Traffic was simply circling through Stockholm and dying due to TTL expiration. MTR screenshots clearly show packets "bouncing" off their nodes back to the outside world.
- Incompetence: Support repeatedly and cheerfully reported the issue as resolved, while in reality, the configuration would revert within 15 minutes. Logs also show an internal loop with 90% packet loss.
- An "Eternal" Fix: The network loop was eventually removed, but the solution was as crude as it gets. From March 20th until today (April 8th), traffic to a neighboring server in the same machine room has been taking the most convoluted route possible.
- 60ms Ping at Point-Blank Range: The latest MTR trace shows a 60ms delay at the 3rd hop within their own infrastructure. For context: within a single Data Center, ping should be less than 1ms. Here, packets are clearly being routed through "kludges" and other locations just to make them reach the destination somehow.

Bottom line: The admins are unable (or unwilling) to configure proper connectivity within their own AS. It is impossible to run latency-sensitive services or any serious projects here. Due to the overall level of incompetence, similar network outages and "band-aid" fixes could happen again at any moment.

Evidence:
- Log showing an external loop via he.net
- Log showing an internal loop with 90% packet loss
- Fresh log from April 8th with 60ms ping within the local network

Best service

Of course, there are problems with support, but it was easily solved when I contacted the administration in private messages, and they even charged compensation. Thanks a lot to Kirill again! I do not regret that I have been using this service for a year now, excellent service and high-quality servers, there are no analogues for me. I recommend ❤️.

Worst service ever!

Worst service ever!! Typical Russian service without any customer satisfaction. Paid for VPS. The IP that was provided was for a different country. The datacenter has the worst equipment. Speed requested 10gbps, never got higher than 25Mbps. Server is working only 25% of the time... Couldnt reinstall ubuntu for half a day. Customer support doesnt respond for days. An to top it up the refund policy requests to send written request!! Never Never Never purchase anything from these scamers!!!

Unavailable for 24 hours

We've been using the service for a couple of months. Suddenly, the server load reached 100%. Support hasn't said anything. This has been going on for almost a day now.

New billing system

New billing system. After paying for a VPS service, you now have to wait 3 days for it to be activated. There is a hidden traffic limit system — they only provide 2–3 TB per server. In case of a refund to a bank card, they require a written заявление sent to their legal address.

I do not recommend purchasing services from them.

Very poor hosting

The hosting is terrible. Support ignored me for three weeks, almost the entire rental period, and then simply closed my ticket. The server isn't working properly (network issues). Technical support simply ignores us when we wait, and when we ask for a refund, they ask us to send a letter to their physical address. Basically, they want people to just give up on getting their money back.

Upd 03.03: After the review, another site responded and corrected it within an hour.

I can’t recommend this host to other…

I can’t recommend this host to other people. Terrible tech support: if you want your questions to be answered at least, this provider is not for you. The only reason to buy servers from them is the price.

The story happened back in 2024, but left such a disagreeable impression on Play2Go that I decided to write a review.

On November 16, I am blocked from my server for having to log sensitive user information (as I believe). I am referring to the site’s ticket - they are asking for permission to inspect the content of the server, I agree. Find suspicious strings in my Python script and ask them to be removed, which I do. After that, the server was unlocked.

But here is the problem - 6 days pass (November 22), and the server is blocked again! Although after the deletion of those suspicious rows, I did not change anything on the server - basically, I was just turned off.

I’m typing on the website like last time, but my support is simply ignoring me. The tiquet was created on 22.11.24 at 14:37 and closed on 01.12.24 at 13:56. Try to guess how many times I’ve had anything answered... 0 times!

Then I turned to another support - Telegram - where I was told that sensitive packets continued to arrive on the server. I explained that not all of my users had been able to download an updated version of the program, which no longer included this information. They didn’t care at all that the code responsible for processing the package was deleted on their request. After my explanations, the endless confusion began - I no longer got any answers from them. No server, and most importantly, no data that was on it!

In conclusion: if you only care about low prices and not about customer attitudes - take them. If normal service is important - definitely not, really, it will touch you someday. I thought that support was not so important to me - I was wrong.

My ticket numbers: #11038(first), #11178(second)

Terrible hosting

Terrible hosting. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially if you want to install a lot of mods on your server; it will simply lag. Because they misrepresent the actual specs, claiming you'll have an AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3d processor, but in reality, it's an I9 9900k. And instead of real RAM, you'll get 50% swap memory. Their support team also takes a very long time to respond; they're just stalling, not knowing what to say. Even though their website says "Best Support" Don't be fooled by the cheap prices.

Persistent network issues and terrible support

The network issues with this provider are systemic in nature and occur on an ongoing basis.

The “best support” advertised on the website in practice responds to and resolves tickets only after several days. Faster action is possible only after public complaints are posted in their Telegram channel — only then do staff begin to react noticeably quicker.

As explanations, the same argument is regularly used: “an outage at an upstream provider, which is planned to be replaced in the near future.” Such wording is repeated time and again without any real changes.

A separate issue worth noting is local network outages on specific nodes. When explicitly pointing out that the network is unavailable on a particular node, the response consists of generic graphs (apparently from a centralized monitoring channel) that do not reflect local problems. As a result, responsibility is shifted to the customer — it is claimed that the issue is on the server side, and a system reinstall is recommended.

Following these recommendations, I conducted an experiment: overnight, I transferred data on a production server at a speed of approximately 4–8 Mbps (this bitter experience was, of course, taken into account later, and backups were subsequently stored in a separate S3 storage), while simultaneously experiencing unstable SSH client behavior. After the transfer was completed, a full system reinstall was performed. However, on a clean system, the network problem persisted unchanged, and no real assistance was provided by support.

Conclusion: an unstable network, a formal and superficial approach from customer support, a lack of diagnostics for local issues, and the shifting of responsibility onto the client.

Great VDS provider

Great hosting provider, I have purchased a VDS from them before and later a dedicated server. There were issues, however the support team quickly helped to resolve them. I really recommend this service if you need cheap and reliable VDS or a dedicated server.

A fascinating experience of Play2GO services

My experience with this hosting is undoubtedly fascinating and I am extremely satisfied with everything the hosting provides.
Support is always ready to help with any issues I face, the owner always answers in Direct messages ASAP and overall the quality is at extremely high level, have never faced any issues with hosting after I have been using it for 4 month already and I recommend it to anyone who looks for really cheap but insanely qualitative hosting services

This is a great hosting

This is a great hosting. the support is wonderful, the administrators are great people, and also with a sense of humor, the tariffs are not very expensive, but they work like the most expensive hosting. I recommend this hosting to everyone, 5/5
