Awful service, not real cleaners, no cleaning products
I booked Housekeep for an end of tenancy clean on a small 1.5-bed flat, expecting the professional service their website promises. What I got was two people who, frankly, were not cleaners. They arrived with no suitable equipment or products — no Viakal, kitchen or bathroom cleaner, only a bottle of Fairy, and then spent the best part of seven hours pushing dust around a flat that their own website says should take a fraction of that time. When they left, it was in a worse state than when they started. You could actually smell that nothing had actually been cleaned.
I reported it immediately with a full set of photos, which I wish i could attach here as they are so bad. Because it was an end of tenancy clean, I had already handed back my keys — so I made crystal clear from the very first message that a re-clean was impossible and that I simply needed a refund so I could get a proper company in before losing my deposit.
What followed was two days of stalling. A rotating cast of three different agents each "checking with the team" and each ignoring the one thing I kept repeating: I cannot let anyone back in, I no longer have access to the property. Despite that, they kept pushing a re-clean as the only resolution, even offering to send "one of their highest-rated teams" — which only begs the question of why a competent team wasn't sent in the first place.
No accountability, no urgency, no refund. A booking that was supposed to protect my deposit has instead cost me time, money, and a further second real clean out of my own pocket. I would strongly advise anyone booking an end of tenancy clean to look elsewhere, as the whole point is that you can't go back and fix it, and Housekeep's only offered "solution" relies on exactly that.
