Hi! Yesterday I finished my journal/planner set-up for the month of July 2018 and decided to share it with you guys.
But before I present to you my planner, here's a little background about why I shifted from pre-designed planners to self-made ones.
I like planners before I knew about bullet journals and I've been buying pre-designed planners from stores like National Book Store and others. The first few months of having them got me excited and committed to using it every day but that commitment slowly dwindled.
Instead of writing on it, I wrote my to-do lists on a piece of post-its instead. It was a waste of paper and money for not efficiently using the planners that I bought.
While using those pre-designed planners I complained a lot about how small the spaces are, how inconvenient it was to not use the other pages because of this and that, sometimes the design is too much for my taste and so on... I know, I'm such a perfectionist.
I had many complaints so I thought of making my own instead.
Below is how my bullet journal looks like for the month of July. I chose a journal with the grid pages cause it compliments my handwriting well. It's divided into several sections. Let me enumerate them:
SECTIONS OF MY JOURNAL:
- Cover
- Goals for the month
- Budget Plan
- Habit Tracker
- Quotes to live by
- Monthly Calendar Overview
- Daily To-do's
- Monthly Recap
B.) GOALS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY
C. BUDGET PLAN
I'm still trying to figure out the best format for my budget plan, but for this month, this kind of set-up will do, for now.
D. HABIT TRACKER
This helps me keep track of all the habits I want to form for this month. I'm still adding some habits aside from what I have written above.
E. QUOTES TO LIVE BY
The idea here is that it will be a compilation of sayings from my idols and others who inspire me or bible verses that lift me up. I'll be filling it up throughout the month of July. I added this section to remind me of who I want to become, what I want in life, and to just simply inspire me.
F. MONTHLY CALENDAR OVERVIEW
I like to plot my tasks, events, blog posts, birthdays and work ahead so that I can easily decide when to do other things. And this gives me a heads up of what will be happening in the month, giving me time to prepare before the said task or event.
G. DAILY TO-DO'S
H. Monthly Recap
I forgot to take a picture of this section, my bad! Basically, it's just a blank page with questions such as, did you achieve your goals for this month? What events or wins that transpired this month that you are most happy about? Reflections/ lessons learned in the month? And so on...
