“Have you ever met someone
so charming, so guileless, untouched by convention?
So unlike the others
you thought her perfection?”
My buddy said “No, for it It’s you that she’s watching!”
pointing her out, sheath dress in pale yellow
laughing, suggesting that I should go meet her
“Go cross the floor and just say hello!”
So with much trepidation
and heart palpitation
I moved around toward her
and asked her to dance.
She smiled a ray of bright Summer sunshine
so perfect a feelng on a cool Autumn day
and then she said “Hi!” and so dazzled was I
on taking my hand she just blew me away.
Her hand on his shoulder
his on her waist
her charm rising swiftly
fine wine to his head
She draped herself on him
as he stirred, held her tender
hand on her hip, so supple; so slender;
took only one dance ‘fore they were a couple.
and then she smiled
and gave him her number;
revived and reborn
as he stood scarcely breathing.
for now in his eyes he could see no one other
his buddy just laughed, said “I think you’re in love!”
while scanning the lasses through his rose colored glasses
“Let’s just have a drink and hope that it passes!”

Very nice, Frank. I think we have all been at that dance at one time!
Best wishes, Pete.
